Re: Transition
In my honest opinion:
Funding for Genital Surgery (Vaginoplasty) GRS/SRS should only be provided/fully funded in a publicly funded Medical Health-care system to patients who suffer from Gender Identity Disorder, under the age of 23 who have lived "full-time" for "at least" 2 years. Seen a qualified clinical Psychiatrist for at least 3 years.
If you are over 23 you are old enough to make the money yourself, by whatever means necessary!
All other aesthetic plastic surgeries (face work, breast augmentation, silicone injections) should be fully funded by the patient alone, regardless of age!
"Everybody dreams honey, If you really want it That Bad(1) you'll go out and make it happen for yourself"
P.S. I also think The Clarke Institute honestly deserves it's pet name: The Jurassic Clarke They are 50 years behind the times, that are 50 years behind the reality .... They are Butchers ....

Re: Transition
I should have been more specific with this poll. I should have said funding just for the final stage. The gender change. As for everything else leading up to that in regards to breast implantation and hair extension and all that I'm uncertain on what or how funds could be issued if at all.
Yeah. Government does not like to pay the bill for most surgeries regardless what it is. If they can find a reason to consider it 'cosmetic' thats their loophole to say to you "Sorry you pay for it yourself".

Isn't marvelous to have a govement putting good people in a position to work rough trade.
PC politically party can go themselves. They put more money into their own pokets then any extended health care funding every will.

Re: Transition
Well what do you know. The stats speak for themselves. 12 people said no funding but 8 people said either partial or full so in total more people agree to give at least some cash.
Like Shelby said.....the government is ahh...uhh....not nice to give help. I really don't know how funding could be given anyways. Thats a completely different topic.

Re: Transition
Funding for SRS was cut in Ontario by Harris when he was trying to balance the budget and pay down on Ontario's deficit. When McGuinty ran in 2003 he said he would restore funding to SRS, like most of his promises he lied. I believe SRS is funded in most other provinces.

Re: Transition
ya it really does suck that they wont pay after they said they would but thats politics.ya think us tgirls could get a break but no such luck,on friday night i had my fourth silicone treatment in my ass hips lips cheeks and chin and if ya think us girls arent tough well its crap like this that makes us that way just picture laying on a bed in a hotel room naked in front of other tgs getting huge needles with no freezing stabbed in every mustle moving the needle around in a circle opening up a pocket in every part of your face and body and trying not to cry cause it hurts so bad it takes your breath away.not knowing if it will kill you or make you so sick and hoping it doesnt travell in spots where you dont want it to,its a huge price we pay putting our lives on the line playing roullette with an unknown substance just to look pretty or the very least to change our looks just to not see who we were years before its so crazy yet the old saying goes if it dont kill ya it will only make ya stronger.we dont do it for our clients we do it for our own piece of mind, maybe were alittle vein at times but if ya only walked a day in our shoes you would never knock another tg again just my thoughts.....lisaparadise

Re: Transition
In many countries such as Iran and Brazil, plastic surgery and harmones to female transition is supported by their governments and payed by the government.
When will Canada catch up. Personally i started transition when i was 17, at that age i was not quite sure what i was going through, but it felt right at heart, and natural. I had natural breast growth, cock and mood disfunctions.
I started harmones at 18 for a year and a half, it was an emotional journey, full of mood swings...lol.
I stopped taking the harmones, my body began again started to evole more naturally. At that age i was young and rebellious, i did not even go to a doctor for advise.
Now i take all the advise i can from other tgirls and those enlightened on this subject.
Our politicians need to catch up on the advancements of transition and the natural evolution of those living as transgender individuals.
There is a benefit on both sides.
So when will canada catchup

Yeah. I can't imagine what Lisa goes through and all the other girls. Especially from what she explained about the needles and the emotional adventure. Yah, if I walked in any ladies shoes I'd probably fall on the first step or 2.
One question. This relates to the video this topic is based on.
Why would a t woman go to see a cardiologist? I still have no clue why a girl needs to see a cardiologist.
