Unlike you Barbie my comment didn't come from a mean place. It came from my own personal experience. I wish I had people around me when I started my transition to let me know that I will not be able to eat whatever I want while on hormones. I am very self aware of who and what I am. You won't see me doing shoots for shemale yum wearing things that didn't even fit me when I was thin.

It is true that many gain weight quite quickly on HRT.
Still the people with the high metabolisms seem to do stay thin, of course.
No matter what you will gain weight in different areas.
Usually mothers or sisters can be a good judge of how it might affect you.

You could be moodier and your sex drive could change.
Sometimes the sex drive becomes more subdued, or may become more cyclical.
Unless your body reacts to the HRT by producing more Testosterone, then sex drive could increase.

That is the other problem with HRT in some people, it triggers large amounts of the opposite horomones to compensate.
Body builders taking mass steroids sometimes start producing too much estrogen and they get boobs and stuff.
The same if you take estrogen the result could be more testosterone causing increased hairiness when you were going for the opposite.

Being on hormones is no different than someone in puberty. That being said, search google for foods rich with estrogen. Also the advice from Candy to eat right and to exercise is good advice not only for trans people, but for everyone. Try to stay away from weights as muscle is not easy to feminize...Cardio is best, jogging, swimming, and my choice inline skating. Pick one you like and go with it. I blade 9-15km a day when I'm not touring.

Crag is also right with a lot of things he mentioned. Much sure you keep up with your endo visits and your blood work. When estrogen is introduced into a male body, the body is going to fight it by producing more testosterone. It gets worse, if the levels are too high, the body then produces an aenzyme called aromatase which has a sole purpose of turning estrogen into testosterone.

Here's a good read for you concerning hormones:

I have to disagree with you on this regard Crag.
However, i do realize some tgirls have gained weight due to estrogen. I did gain some weight 2 years ago, but then i changed the type of hormones and now...it works wonderfully on my body. My weight is stable and i'm toned, though i have increased a little bit the dose, especially when i am on holiday

Bottom line is: try to search the best hormones for us, everybody is different, so the hormones has to be prescribed uniquely for only one individual (me or you, not both)

                      good luck JV!

A few good sites to look at are susans.org it has a forum and a lot of girls starting out in their transition post so it is a good place for advice or asking questions. Plus it is not geared towards adult entertainment. Here is another site tsroadmap.com.
