Can someone just briefly describe what happens in the video.

Why are there bystanders talking to cop who is cut in half?

Greep, your not a pussy for not watching the video. I don't think anyone is less of a man for now watching a man blown to bits on his last life string, but disturbed if you commonly enjoy such videos.

Synopsis and opinion:

He was not cut, but probably hit by some sort of bomb. His lower torso and legs seem to look like they are beside him. He has not suffered enough blood loss yet to die, but if brough to medical attention fast enough (not likely since people are just standing and video taping this poor man) he could survive and be in a wheelchair without legs. There is blood all over the street indicating possible attacks on civillians/terrorists with fighting forces back using bombs. Unfortunately, Vietnam doesn't quite have our medical care and it would probably cost the cop his first born and income for the next 20 years to pay for all the operations and services required to survive (albeit he can no longer function as a cop anymore). I have no idea what he is saying because I do not understand Vietnamese and he is speaking very low. Likely no one can hear what he is saying even if you blasted to volume to full capacity. I can guess that he is saying, "please help me", " call an ambulance" or "tell my wife and children I love them very much, I'm sorry". While some enjoy seeing the slow painful death of this man, it appauls me that someone would sit there video taping and not call for help. Just disgusting how many people stop and stare without any actions. As poor as they are I am sure they all have cell phones.

If I'm not mistaken, he was cut in half by a truck. Also, I think I saw some bystanders with phones, who did call for help. I just thought it was incredible, how he was able to carry on a conversation in such a state. Apparently he survived the ordeal.

Ambulances and paramedics don't show up in under 10 minutes in most asian countries. He was lucky to live.
I'm sure someone has been called but it takes a while.
One thing I noticed in Asia, is life goes on no matter what is happening.
Everyone is off chasing their goals.
Here it's not that we care more, we just look for someone to blame more.
Many people that seem to care here are just looking to promote some special interest cause.

A place like Vietnam is still subject to carbombings etc.
Over here people are coddled and this stuff is hidden from view as much as possible.
There is much more chance of a doctor or medic being nearby in a Canadian City.
In this case what could anyone really do, where do you start to stop the bleeding?

Cops are in the streets all day directing and the traffic is nutso.
As such there is no road rage and very few accidents from what I had seen it Thailand.
Driving in Thailand is crazy but it cured my road rage.
When you drive defensively you don't get road rage so much.

People have said that on other forums I've posted this at...But I'm thinking may have been sent to China because the treatment facilities are better there, than they are in Vietnam?

By the sounds of it, his legs got severed (very close to the hips).
He still may have died. When I see cut in half, I'm thinking across the torso -
saying he got cut in half is misleading.

There is a Japanese movie called Ichi The Killer, in that movie he cuts someone actually in half with a blade on his shoe. Only time I have ever seen someone cut that way. Very interesting movie actually and it is quite famous in Japan. The main villian is a sadomasochist so it can get pretty brutal at times.
