This is a misconception.
You can update your page 24 hours a day.
When you update your page for the first time in that 24 hour period, you are moved to the top of the listings.
Each other time you update your profile, it does not improve your rank on the listings within the same day.
If someone updates their profile and their page does not appear changed, this probably means they need to refresh their page in the browser.
(reload, refresh F5 etc.)
When you look at your own page a zillion times your browser will tend to cache it. -
