  • The real Silent Hill

Something wicked lurks in the misty depths of old PA. Here in Pennsylvania we have a place that is so dark and shrouded in mystery that it inspired the ultra terrifying series of games and movie, "Silent Hill". If you, like me, are a fan of this horror series you know just how unnerving it can be.
What began as a mining town along a beautiful river, Centrallia became a true ghost town in one terrible event.
We know that the mines that ran as a network deep under the town was set ablaze and to this day burns like a raging furnace, sweeping fire and ashes through it's corridors. Steam, ash and smoke rise from the countless cracks in the streets as mist falls in the early mornings of a cold Pennsylvania dawn. At night, the darkness is so deep and black with not a single light to guide your way out should you stay to see the night.
They say a trash heap caught fire.
    ...I guess.
Something is wrong on the surface, though. A church stands beside a ravaged grave yard in desolation. The iron bars that surround it look as though something bent them to make a door. See for yourself.
Homes that have no doors, stairwells leading to nothing and cryptic markings on the concrete of old schools make this the single most heart pounding ghost town to walk through.
NOBODY remains. At one point a few had been documented on video. They seemed happy and content. Why would they stay? Nothing remains of the town. No food, no gas, no school... nothing. Who are they?

Here is the footage of the real "Silent Hill", not but two hours away from me if that.

Here is me looking like the dead wife of James Sunderland LOL
Iv'e been told so many times that I am a striking mirror image of her. Do I call the sinners to Silent Hill for redemption?

I dare you... DARE YOU to walk this towns streets.
Here is the story, the concept that was made into the movie based on the town.

Just thought I would scare the crap out of you LOL.

Yes, it is. Silent Hill is very popular here in PA for that reason. Konami/Japan is the maker of the game series. They borrowed from local Japanese culture as well as ours here in the United States. They needed a setting to fit the story of the fire.
      They used Centralia.

Could you imagine driving through Pennsylvania at dusk only to come to a dead end. You get out and the road is split in half and it is the only road through to your destination. You reverse but the heat vents under the concrete cause you to lose a tire. With no spare, you walk into the town trying to find a person or anything to help you on your way. Night sets in quickly and all you have is a flashlight. You walk in pitch black through the town when sirens begin to scream through the empty black streets while cold rain begins to hit the ground. The steam from the rain hitting the furnaces of the now endless fires below the town causes you to panic as you run to the or from the source of such a loud wail.
In the distance, your light can see something move and twitch. You get closer to see if it could be a friendly person who could help you.
The creature falls to the ground and begins convulsing and spitting up crimson spew. It breaks its own arms and legs only to lift itself by its back and crawls to you chattering it's rotting teeth.
You run for your life from the demon only to see more coming for you.
You charge through the closest door to you, a burned out and boarded up elementary school.
As you struggle for light in the shattered halls of the school...
YOU HEAR THE CRIES OF SO MANY CHILDREN....
                    BURNING...
THEY ARE FOREVER BURNING AND CAN NEVER DIE.
