looks like in the USA only so far, erotic/adult section now censored,
looks like most are just moving over to the casual encounters section

    http://www.betanews.com/article/Crai...why/1283882038

Craigslist shut down its adult services section quietly late Friday, seemingly acquiescing to the demands of child welfare groups. Organizations such as The Rebecca Project had said that Craigslist's policy of allowing sex ads was assisting criminals in sex trafficking, and the site was making a hefty profit doing so.
For whatever reason, the site has decided to make it obvious that it was removing the link, placing the word "censored" in white letters with a black background in place of where the link used to be. Cragslist's decision to do so seems to suggest that it may have been pressured to make the change rather than doing it of its own volition.

The site was not responding to press requests for comment as of Tuesday. The move came about two weeks after attorneys general in 17 states warned Craigslist that prostitution ads were rampant across the site. The site responded, and said it was willing to work with law enforcement in order to get the issue under control.
It is estimated that Craigslist could lose as much as $36 million yearly in revenue as a result of shutting down adult ads. According to a study from AIM Group, that revenue had tripled in just the last year alone.
Shutting down this section may have the opposite effect than what critics may be looking for. Prostitution could begin to appear in other sections of the site, like "casual encounters." In fact, a cursory search of this section will find many ads advertising sex for those who are "generous:" essentially sex for money.
Microsoft Research senior researcher Danah Boyd argued that censoring the adult services section actually helps those using Craigslist for criminal purposes.
"What we desperately need are more resources for law enforcement to leverage the visibility of the Internet to go after the scumbags who abuse," Boyd wrote for the Huffington Post. "What we desperately need are for sites like Craigslist to be encouraged to work with law enforcement and help create channels to actually help victims."

WHAT IT WOULDN'T BE FAIR IF A MAN DID NOT PAY THE MORE SENSUOUS GENDER FOR A SEXUAL SERVICE OR FAVOR!!!!! I mean automatically when a guy has sex with the more sensuous gender who satisfies his needs, doesn't he owe her something back? YES. I think the law has it BACKWARDS, it should be ILLEGAL if a guy did NOT pay the more sensuous gender for sex, MAKES SENSE DOESN'T IT? But at the same time the SAME law allows women in a marriage to take half of what the guy earned himself, not only is that prostitution that is CORRUPTED prostitution of the worse kind because the poor guy ends up paying an EXTREMELY,OUTRAGIOUSLY UNFAIR amount for sex. NOW THAT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW but not when women or shemales give sex for a fair price!!!!

Anyways, adults 18 years and over should have the right to choose at their own risk to recieve or give money for sexual favors or services and they're rights should not be violated, because like I said it wouldn't be fair if women or shemales didn't recieve money for satisfying another person's needs. Society and government should also realise that women and shemales who recieve money for sex have a great need for money, the same way that their clients have a great need for sex, so therefore making it illegal violates the great needs and rights of both parties.

If there are on-line groups and organisations that are against recieving money for sexual favors and services, than there should be on-line groups and organisations that should change the law and go against such groups. The people or groups who favor money for sex are NOT forcing those who are against it to participate in it, so therefore the fockers who are against money for sex should NOT force people or groups NOT to engage in it. Get it?

Another factor is, if on-line adult ads on Craigslist or other sites do NOT mention givng sex for money, but only mentions about a date, other social meeting, having a hot time or sharing a sexual experience then they shouldn't be closed down, banned or censored and people 18 years and over should have the right to post them because their ads are NOT indicating receiving money for sex.

IF CHILD GROUPS OR ORGANIZTIONS ARE AGAINST ADULT ADS ON CRAIGSLISTS because they fear minors or kids will post ads, then Craigslists should not allow any minors or kids to place such ads, but for focks sakes adults 18 years and over should have that LEGAL right just as long as they don't mention giving sex for money.

But then a question enters my mind, at precisely 18 years you are legally a full grown adult but 1 day before you are still a child under the law That is not accurate because in reality most 17 year olds are physically an adult by that age and certainly not a child or kid anymore due to the completion of puberty when a child becomes an adult, although everyone including teenagers must still obey and respect the laws in your state, I do.

IF THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO BE OF ANY HELP with adults 18 and over who choose to receive money for sex, instead of making it illegal and violating human rights, why don't they invent some kind of home-testing kit to allow sex workers and their clients to test if they have any diseases such as aids, herpes, and all the other types where they can IMMEDIATELY find the results in minutes. If such a home testing kit was possible or available then the government and society groups should bud the fuck out, but since its not available yet, their clients can always wear a condom thus they should still bud the fuck out.

Doesn't make sense to try to close it down in Canada. If they tried to close it down then they should also have to get the local rags to stop printing escort ads too.

What's the alternative then? They'd have to hit the streets to drum up business and that's bad for the communities and the pros.
