Hello, I am heading to Thailand on Feb 11th/11, in hopes of living there and getting a proper teaching job. (not just esl) I am really excited about the opportunity, I feel as though my life is finally about to start. If there are any suggestions about finding a katoey partner, living accomidations or any general info anyone would like to share I am all ears. Also if there are any admirers or t-girls that are travelling over or are there and would like to talk, have a drink etc with another Canadian I would really like that as well. One of the best nights I have ever had was hanging out with another admirer at goodhandys just talking honestly about our appreciation for the girls. It was just nice to share for once, kind of like the forums, but in person. I am counting the days, thanks Jon

Do some searches on the forum you will find many threads about this from myself and others.

Finding a Katoey partner is very easy in Thailand.
Getting sincere girl is harder.
You can find Katoey everywhere in Thailand and most will jump at the chance to date a westerner.

In Bangkok the ladyboys are more business like generally.
They are more educated but also have more options and expensive tastes.

Often you will find the katoey from the countryside are the most sincere.
Many of them end up working in Pattaya hoping to find a steady farang mate.

If you want to live somewhere and teach english, you probably have many options. However Bangkok by far would be the most expensive, yet still cheap compared to western standards. You can easily rent a one bedroom flat for under $200 or so.

Go out and live in the far reaches of Thailand will be much cheaper.
Chiang Mai is the second biggest city in Thailand but far from the urban experience that Bangkok is. Much cheaper.
Go to places like Buriram and you will find unbelievably cheap living and accomodations. I have seen English schools out in Buriram city and Surin. Still you will see many ladyboys.

I am going to stay at the Miami hotel the first bit, close to Nana Plaza, get it out of my system then get set up. I have read a bunch of the reviews of the clubs there, what was your favorite?
