Cool, but not big on trying these programs out. Using the Activity option in Safari is what I use when I'm trying to download videos.

Vdownloader in the beginning was free and wide open as well but over time became restrictive and no longer FREEWARE.

Another Youtube downloader

Now this one is web based, so there is nothing to download. You will require Java installed on your computer. Cut and paste your video's link in to the box, click and voila! This also has a video to MP3 converter, in case you find that rare song on youtube that no one else has!

I always use it for youtube videos and audio. Love it!
