My latest trip to Thailand 2011

A short time ago I went on a trip to Thailand.
Just wanted to show you all some of the things I did.

I am pretty much over my "partying my ass off with ladyboy gogo dancers phase".
So I do more normal thing now when I go there, although I am still always hanging with ladyboys.


So I got to Bangkok and my LB GF and her friends were all going to some festival in Hua Hin.
I had never heard of Hua Hin before and I had been to some pretty crappy Thai festivals, so I was skeptical.
Hua Hin is about a 3 hour drive from Bangkok and is an amazing beach resort city.

So we checked into our hotel there and went for something to eat and then went back to get ready for the "party".
So I was still skeptical until we got there I saw it was a massive Hiphop Ska festival.

There was so many people on the beach that we could not get very close to the stage.
So we found a spot in the sand and me and the ladies started to have a great time.
Due to the poor selection of alcohol at the bar, I ended up with a huge pail of scotch and soda.
Later on i waded out into the ocean up to my waist a bit and sparked up a jay, while continuing to watch the show.
Awesome time!


Before we left Hua Hin we had to go check out the local temples and monuments.
The main on there featured this freaky dude who liked to ride 2 headed elephants apparently.

Back in Bangkok

So we got back to Bangkok a couple days later and decided to go out to a movie.
The theatre was way better than any I had been to in Canada.
We then went shopping for a bit and I am sure any lady here would like to visit the Platinum Fashion mall.
Nothing like it in Canada either.

After that we went to a roadside food vendor for some down home Thai food.

Then we went over to Khaosan Road. I had never been there before but it was where all the cheap backpacker hotels and hostels are located. So of course the area was full of young foreigners partying in the bars.
We got a tower of beer and and Hooka pipe brought right to the table.

Soi Cowboy

There was one Red Light area in Bangkok I had never been to which was called Soi Cowboy.
Probably I had never been because it wasn't known for ladyboys.
Soi means street in Thai, so basically it is "Cowboy Street".
It is basically a whole street a couple blocks long that is mainly Go Go bars with a few entertainment bars with bands mixed in.
The main difference here is the neon. This is like a little mini cowboy Las Vegas. (If it was packed full of thai ladies.)
Very interesting, kind of reminded me of Calgary, hehe.

Dinner Boat cruise

A couple nights later we went on a dinner cruise down the Chao Phraya River.
You eat a gourmet dinner buffet while cruising down the river past many temples and landmarks.
Meanwhile singers and dancers entertain. Myself and my ladyboy friends had a great time.

Ladyboys at Nana Plaza

Now you are probably thinking, Crag we need to see more ladyboys.

So we headed out to the Nana area one night and went to have a few beers at one of my favourite people watching spots.
Big Dogs beer bar is just outside Nana entertainment plaza.
It is also a perfect vantage point to watch all the ladyboys that work on the street in the entrance to the plaza.
All the ladys standing out here are ladyboys since they have no bars to work in. Most genetic girls can find bars to work in, so you don't see them on the streets so much. There is fewer ladyboy bars and it is very hard for them to get work in the bars unless they are the top of all the ladyboys. So the surplus ladyboys like to hangout in front of Nana hoping to intercept some customers going in and out. Nana has the most ladyboy bars in Bangkok, so it is an obvious spot for them to work.

I set up my little camera on video until I got yelled at.
Sorry the quality is not the best but it was at night on a tiny camera.
However you can see the sheer number of ladyboys that hang out there, and I thought this was acutally a slow night.

Thats so bad ass, I hope I have the cash to fund a trip like that someday. Get a solid pair of sandals, some film cameras, 40 or 50 rolls of 400 ISO and go check out everything. That looks so fun!

Troll, why in the world would you want film cameras? I resisted switching to digital but now I would NEVER go back. The thought of it is ridiculous. ISO 400? I regularily shoot at ISO's up to 3200 in low light and the results are spectacular.

Because you can shoot ISO 400 as ISO 100, or you can shoot it as a higher ISO and just push process it.

Because I still like fucking around with my film camera if theyre photos -for me- Didn't say I wouldn't bring a digital, didnt say I wouldnt bring a medium format and a tripod For for walking around 400 ISO film gives you a lot of room to play around with. We all have our preferences . I really dont like going to higher ISOs on digital, I dont like the noise that starts going on past 400 on my older DSLR. Anyways, I dont want to hijack a thread, take it to PM if you like :-)

It kind of depends where you are and what your expectations are and how long you spend.
If you go to a bar and take a girl you always pay bar fine of about $500 baht ($20), if you stay with a girl for subsequent days you are supposed to pay the bar fine daily or the girl may have to pay it herself.

As far as Thailand goes you will pay more in Bangkok and less in Pattaya.
Bangkok generally has better looking and more educated ladyboys, less likely to be looking for a boyfriend.
Pattaya generally has plainer, poorer ladyboys from the rice farms, more likely to be looking for a boyfriend.

Then there is Short time and long time.
Short time is usually considered anything from 0-3 hours, or so.
Long time is usually overnight or longer.

So take a ladyboy off the street you could pay as little as 500 baht for a quickie at a short time room (another 500)
Take a bar girl for a short time you will probably expect 1000-2000 for short time.
Usually no fee is ever negotiated in advance and most girls in Thailand will give you a great time including GFE with the expectation that you will be generous with their donation.
An over night you could probably spend 2000-5000
A majority of ladyboys will try and extend their stay with you as long as they can.
If you like the girl and would like to spend many days with her, usually you will just give her a nice gift at the end.
Still the amount is of your choosing, although you will know it if they are disappointed.

Often when you spend several days, they will urge you to buy them gold during your time together, just calculate this into what you think you owe.
Other stuff you buy them like clothes and stuff is just considered bonus, so don't count that.
(Often the girls have deala to take the clothes back to the stores for pay too)

So the beauty of thailand is they girls usually don't ruin the moment by discussing business.
Usually that all happens at then end of an engagement however long that may be.
They also won't be trying to deal with other customers while with you ever, and give some of the best GFE in the world.

Girls on the street will be much cheaper with no bar fine, but you are taking a bigger risk.
There is usually a reason they are not working in a bar, especially if they are good looking.

I don't even think you can compare the two services.
Two entirely different business models.
Plus in Thailand many ladyboys will gamble on the possiblity of a relationship with you.
Americans/Canadians are very popular there, even if you are old girls will be attracted to you for real.
In Thailand it almost feels free.
