I am thinking about becoming a shemale myself and was wondering what I should know or do before I make that final choice. As well as any helpful tips or advice while and after I am taking the hormones to become a shemale. Any first hand experience is welcome.

Okay, the wording of your post really concerns me. In my honest opinion, I think any genuine transgendered person is transgendered from birth to death and no cosmetic or medical procedure can MAKE someone transgendered or a "shemale". So I truly hope you are doing this because this is how you feel and this is how you have always felt, because once you start there is almost no turning back.

I started my trans journey when I was 13 years old. It was very hard and I endured some extremely difficult times, losing my family and "friends". I didn't have much education on what it meant to be trans and I had no idea that hormones existed or even other trans people. So you definitely have an advantage in this day and age with our community becoming bigger and more aware.

What you need to do before you make the decision to start chemically/physically changing your body is you need to start interacting in the world as your desired gender. Make sure that this is right for you, that it feels right even if you aren't totally satisfied with how you look, its about the feeling. Do you feel like you are your "natural" self when you are dressed up as your desired gender. This stuff takes a while, You want to give your self a few months. Even go and see a mental health specialist to be tested and diagnosed just to give you positive encouragement on your decisions.

Everything else will be explained by your doctor about how you should take care of your self while you are on hormones.

Just make sure this is what YOU want to do and that this is who you are and that you are not doing this just to be some hot bitch because in a few years you'll probably end up committing suicide!
