  • What colors to go with what

    Hi girls,

My name is jessica. I have problem when it comes too matching clothing. I never know what skirt to go with what top and then what color shoes or boots to go with it. Then what color pantyhose. I was wondering if any of you fine ladies would be able to provide me with a place that shows me or you can just tell me what goes with what. Thanks in advance

    Kisses

You need to provide some examples since you are pretty much saying:
Of all a colours, which ones go together.

Maybe some pics of outfits you have, or descriptions etc.

Generally I would say that colours of the same family go together.
Browns, light, dark, medium can mix well.
Colours that are close in the spectrum like reds and purples.

White goes with almost any colour and I think black goes with bright colours and white also.

        Something to try

I won't try to advise you on colour co-ordination but I do think this might help you. As a teen I had an older sister who, being a fashion nut, always purchased several fashion magazines and left them laying around the house. These mags contained almost nothing but ads and photos of the latest trends in fashion, design, fabrics, colours etc. My sister was interested in wearing the latest designs but didn't have the cash to buy from the high-end shops that carried them. Instead, she had found a dressmaker who could copy any design just from a magazine photograph so my sister was always up to date in wearing the latest trends in clothing.

You could do the same by using any of the popular fashion mags for inspiration and at zero cost, just by going to a good newstand and thumbing through the pages of as many fashion magazines as you have time for. Just by looking at the photos you can see what colours and things are used together by different designers etc and then plan your own wardrobe combinations in a similar way.

A few mags come immediately to mind: Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazar etc., but there are scads of similar magazines some monthly, others maybe seasonal, quarterly etc. and probably you could even google fashion magazines and check pics on line.
