Being a vegan is a personal choice. I've butchered my own meat numerous times over the years. If you kill the animal quickly and humanely, I see nothing wrong with it. Killing an animal to me is no different than mutilating a plant or killing them as well. Food is food.

Chewing the "cud" is something we weren't designed to do.

Absolutely correct, a Vegan diet is an unnatural diet for humans.

Humans were designed to be able to eat meat or we would not have been equipped with both Incissor and Canine teeth which we call our Eye teeth. The function of Incissors is to cut our food into smaller pieces and the Canines are to tear chunks of flesh from our prey. Admittedly over the last few 100,000's of years our Canines have become very much less prominent than those of a dog or cat e.g. but in the beginning, we too were meat eaters as evidenced by bone remnants found in the dwellings of our early ancestor the "cave man".

Plant eaters such as cows are built differently than flesh eaters and have neither canine teeth nor upper incissors, only a tough upper pad to assist in tearing grass from the plant using their flat topped lower teeth to grip the grass e.g., and have not one but four chambers in their stomachs to allow proper digestion of plant material - don't recall seeing any humans like that or with the ability to cough up partially digested food "cud" and continue to chew it until it is ready to pass on.

Early on humans were mainly vegan.

We ate grains, grasses and other fruits and veggies to survive.
If we were able to come by fresh meat we certainly would eat it.
However this would only amount to small game and and birds.
Our ability to take down or consume large animals is not really natural.
We could take advantage of other predators takes from time to time also.

As we developed tools and weapons we were able to capture, kill and domesticate large animals.
Still we had little capacity to store this meat and killing a large animal for a meal wasn't really worthwhile.

Our appendix still exist from a time when we had the need to digest long fibrous materials.
However generally the appendix are not working in most people.

As cooking has softened up most of our food, our teeth have dulled down.
Our teeth were probably sharper way back for protection just as much as eating raw meat.
Chances are when we fought other early humans, we probably ate them after we beat them.

It's only in the last 200,000 years that we started eating meat.
So, in that respect, it's very unnatural to eat meat.
Anyway, I'm deeply sensitive. It pains me that we consume murdered animals for consumption.
                It is murder.

I tend to go with the common sense approach to things in life. I really like this explanation of Vegans and eating meat...

Btw: Eating meat is a factor that is considered in human evolution. Eating meat enabled humans to receive calories therefore energy faster. It enabled humans to move away from hunters and gatherers, and together with fire was part of the reason for organized society and agriculture.

Hamburgers, breaded chicken, pork chops and steak are delicious and needed for nutrients. Eating meat is not wrong, KILLING ANIMALS FOR MEAT IS WRONG. All animals are individuals just like humans except that they are of a different species. They have a the same need for life as we so it is in fact wrong and evil to kill in order to eat, although it is a necessary evil in order to survive. We as humanbeings are here to change all that is wrong into good since we have the intelligents and in future we will no longer kill animals for food, we will GROW MEAT instead by using stem cells. For now please put that cow to sleep so i can have my bigmac but for fucks sake at least do it in a humane way because a mechanical hammer pounded on their heads is one sick fick of a way to put them down as that is what slaughter factories are still doing.

Food chain and we are the top of it. When a wolf kills a deer does anyone see anything wrong? We call it nature. I love my sushi, love my steak, and love eating all sorts of animals that have wandered around our planet. I've eaten all sorts of fish, seafood, cows, rabbits, horse, pig, deer, ostrich, caribou, moose, snake, alligator, frog, snails, and whatever else I could get my hands on. I like having choice and expanding my palette.

Eating meat is a choice. So make educated choices. Read what is out there and don't make choices based on some propaganda movie. This type of stuff is extremist stuff. Instead, read stuff about the both the positive and negative sides of both an omnivorous diet vs a vegan diet.

Here: http://www.nobeliefs.com/comments9.htm. Everything is laid on the table here, not only the diet issues but the ethical issues.

Nature wants us to learn by our mistakes and the wrong that we do. Where there is wrong there is a solution that can only come in time as we learn and prosper. There are countries that cook and eat dogs but we have learned that dogs are loving beings that have the same need for love and life as us, same applies to all animals. Although it is a must for us to kill animals in order to eat meat at the present time but in the near future it will become illegal to kill an animal for food because I can make a possible prediction by that time(2050 to 2100) we will have the capability to use stem cells to grow meat in containers. We will be able to grow pork chops and steaks right in the fridge without ever killing an animal. And then all I need to do is press the button in the front that says Big Mac and in 2 or 12 or 48 hours(??) out pops a Big Mac from the fridge slot.

I don't judge. Meat is meat. Where we see dogs as friends other countries see cows as sacred.

As for the solution being found by science....I have yet to find something made by man that is better than the real thing.

Oh Dom... On a side note. That Big Mac you are eating...fun fact: the term "100% pure beef " that mcdicks uses is patented or trademarked. Do you understand what that means? They have the right to use that statement even though there is no beef. If you have ever seen the pics of mcdicks food over 6-12 months you will notice it stays the same.
Think I am kidding? Google it.
