Why is everyone a Porn Star?

I seemed to notice that everyone that acts in porn seems to call themselves a "Porn Star".

In Hollywood, mostly those who are famous are "Movie Stars" but often they call themselves actors.
It is others that tend to label them as "Stars".

So is everyone in Porn a Star? Or is it only in their own minds?

No a person is only a "star" in any genre if they have been nominated and won awards by the industry, fellow actors, and fans! Being in a porn movie doesn't make someone a "Porn Star" though I can see girls using that as a marketing ploy to put "PSE" on their ads.

Everyone should be a "Star" in their own mind, it's nothing more than a good positive attitude and a healthy self esteem.

Starring roles?

If an actor is in the first or second lead role in a film (sometimes third) they are said to star in it. I don't think staring in one movie makes a person a movie star, in most people's eyes. Speaking as a camgirl, I have wondered if I start performing on pornsites ... ... (I already have a scene up at evacassini.com) at what point does it make sense to call myself a pornstar? I want to market my camming as well as possible, but I don't want to be dumb or look totally fake.

Honestly, I call myself a "Pornstar" ( especially for promotion, typically and especially now...I didn't a year ago ) and my reasoning for it, is that I have been on numerous sites with numerous scenes. I'm also featured in 3 DVDs. I also have my own official Grooby Solo site www.EvaCassini.com. I was Model of the month for Oct 2012 on www.ShemaleYum.com and have been nominated for a few awards. I am up for 2 awards for this coming Tranny Awards.

So what I mean is that one would have to have been featured in many things and have accomplished many things and still continue to do so.

I've heard from others that once you have a few scenes under your belt then its permissible. Or you've been on a DVD and the whole nomination thing too.

But I do believe it shows more weight and magnitude to call oneself "Pornstar", if one has done a great amount of things and has made a name for oneself.
