TS escorts are an easy target because they can often be clocked by staff.
88% of the time a tgirl is staying in a hotel, they are usually an escort, especially in Regina.

There is no civil right issue at all, most of them are breaking the law.
Almost all these traveling girls are breaking the law by conducting business without a license everywhere they go.
This is the same thing that stops anyone from just setting up a business anywhere.
You cannot just go set up a hot dog stand at city hall in Toronto even though there is dozens of them already.
You need a business license and probably a ticket to the more desirable spots.

Also since it sounds like hotel security is helping, the hotel is probably partly behind getting them out.
Most likely the hotel has policies against escorts on their premises. (or anything illegal)
No matter what anyone says, prostitution is considered illegal and unsavoury everywhere in Canada.
You can interpret the laws anyway you like but in the end it is illegal.
They don't physically bust people for it much, they just shut you down.
Or charge you with loitering, no business license, wrong zoning, tax evasion, not collecting GST or something different.
In addition the hotels probably are not zoned for anything like strippers or sex services at all.

I haven't heard problems from anyone staying in private residences yet.
Most of the local girls probably have licenses and such.

Anyway i bet they are telling them to leave town or they will give them a huge fine.
That is what they were doing in Calgary.

It seems strange to me that visiting girls get busted but local girls do not. The hotel problem theory doesn't explain the wholesale difficulty almost any traveling girl has encountered. I was caught myself two years ago. They told me to leave town and never come back. My theory is that a local girl has found a sympathetic ear with LE and calls in complaints about visiting girls.

It may be that something started this some time ago but now it smacks of collusion between a local informant and LE.

As for the license, there is no escort bylaw in Regina and an escort cannot get a license. I asked.

Insofar as the "incall" provisions of the criminal code are concerned, there is no distinction possible between a hotel room and a domicile. Suffice that clients are invited to the place for the purposes of prostitution.

I am about to head east on my summer tour and I will not be going to Regina. It is regrettable because I know many clients there but why should I put myself through such an unpleasant situation. I'm not doing it.

But, no charges laid so no need to go to court. I suspect that there is a civil liberties association here (there are the 10 people in this province that don't drive big trucks with a shot gun in the window) but someone would have to complain and the poor harassed girl just wants to get the hell out if here.

Wow, what crap! Particularly given the SCC decision and that BS tabled prostitution legislation that targets clients not escorts.

Do you have a law society that does pro-bono civil liberties cases, or a civil liberties association there?

We are fortunate here in BC to have a very strong civil liberties association.

I strongly suspect the Court would slap their hand pretty hard if this was pursued...pure harassment.

started a topic Regina -problems for visiting ladies?

    Regina -problems for visiting ladies?

Apparently, the fine folks at the Regina city police are targeting traveling ladies and making life miserable for them.

Rumour has has it that they are targeting those that advertise on BP. I gather they call, make an appointment and then appear at the door with hotel security and evict the traveler, usually in the middle of the night just to be total ass holes about the whole thing.

I was was supposed to enjoy time with one of my favourite ladies last Thursday evening but she was caught in this disgusting sting operation on Wednesday night - well early Thursday morning -and was so upset left town on the first plane out. Who could blame her!

I also hear about the same thing happening to another lovely visitor earlier this year. If you have ever been to Regina, going after beautiful, quiet hotel visitors should be way down on the policing priorities! Maybe the drug-addled, knife wielding street walkers should garner some attention!

I am am disappointed and disgusted. If someone would complain I am sure this is overstepping their bounds! But, the ladies just want to get out and not make a scene.

is this happening elsewhere or is the heart of the prairie bible belt making a name for itself?
