Ah the smoking sucks, thanks for the heads up. I have travelled to the middle east several times (although stopped after Trump got elected) and the amount of people who smoke is staggering. And the amount of those that are a pack or more a day is also staggering. And yes, they have the "smoking will kill you" things on the packages, it doesn't matter. If you are in a major city like Istanbul anywhere you walk (even parks) there is someone smoking OR someone smoked there recently, so it is everywhere. A lot of restaurants have no smoking sections but of course all the smoke floats over.
