Could someone explain to me exactly what is wrong with the word "shemale"?
Seems pretty much along the lines of ladyboy, but she doesn't like that either.
However every ladyboy in Thailand fully accepts the term "ladyboy" as valid and not offensive.
Isn't it more a matter of personal preference?

Perhaps tgirls want to be recognized as "female", but that does not sell "shemale" porn or escort services.
If you are going to make "shemale" porn don't you give up some of your rights to complain?
You are putting yourself up as sexual object if you do porn or escort, not sure how you can have your cake and eat it to.

Seem like more political correctness that our society is overwhelmed with.
This article tries to equate trans murders with the use of the work shemale.
It say is an epidemic and that a trans woman is killed every 36 hours.
No one can say if they murder rate of trans is higher than that of men or women because it isn't.
There isn't even a consistent definition of who falls into this group.
If a guy is murdered while wearing make up or cross dressing, do they count as transgendered?

Give me a break.

There are some pretty good blogs around posted by adult entertainment industry people explaining why they use the word shemale.

In a nutshell, it is the most popular term for Transsexual used by non-English speakers.

Also, if you Google the word shemale all you come up with is porn and escort sites. If you Google the word Transsexual you come up with many more support groups and other informative links than porn sites.

Do you really want the porn sites competing for the word Transsexual and driving the links to support groups and other relevant information off the first couple pages of Google search results?

The bottom line is, the people who make their living off the adult industry, and the consumers of their products and services, have their word, Shemale.
The people who have support groups, and information of interest to trans people have their word, Transsexual.

Even the word Transsexual is starting to have negative connotations among younger trans people, probably because it contains sex or sexual. Many prefer to miss use the term transgender, which is an umbrella term including most non-binary's. Even cross dressers, or outside the US, transvestites, are transgendered, but only people who have taken Medical and/or legal steps to change their assigned birth sex are Transsexual.

There is no such thing as a shemale, it is just an adult industry word.

In that article she says shemale, ladyboy, TS, tranny, trap etc are all bad.
She makes the connection between Trans murders and these supposed "derogatory" names.
However as is the trend these days, people can publish statements with absolutely no proof or facts that would lead to their theories. In her mind every time someone says shemale, a tgirl is murdered.

She shows no proof or cause and effect for her statements. Just a personal view with nothing much more.

There is no proof that trans have a higher murder rate that the average.
If they do have a higher rate, you would also have to consider the high incidence of sex work in the community.
Plus everyone is so fragmented about issues these days.
We should be fighting ALL murder, not just murders of special interest groups.
It is awful but everyone is being murdered all the time, this is what has to stop.

In porn and mainstream need separation. They should not use the same terms too much.
Shemale does relate to porn and escorting thus won't get confused with transgender rights topics.
Porn will rarely use transgender to promote their wares.

Females that do porn are referred to as sluts, whores, bitches, cumbuckets etc.
No one that does the porn is offended as they understand they give up their right to be offended once they agree to do this for money. You can say they are forced to because of female subjugation or blah blah blah, but they know what they are doing.

Personal opinions are taken as fact these days, almost like fake news.
