I thought people were crazy sticking things in the cock until I tried it. I used something I had in the house, don't remember what, I like it so much I bought a set of sounding tools like the picture below. At first I started with the small one but eventually I used the biggest one. If you use good lube it really feels good. I have one also that is hollow on the inside so that you can come through it. Don't knock it until you try it. Has anyone else tried it?

Yes, I've tried it and enjoy thoroughly. This may sound odd but I first started sounding using those thin pepperoni sticks they sell at gas stations. I was drunk on whiskey and just had the sudden urge to finally try it and the thought of using a pepperoni stick turned me on for some reason. I eventually bought some real sounding tools but it just wasn't as hot as the first time with the pepperoni. Now I make my own pepperoni to sound with using local meats. I have all different sizes and flavors (the smell is what also turns me on.) It's been an absolute joy.
