I was in Montreal and decided to attend.
There was a good crowd. Music and dancing for those who wished. The music was loud enough but not so loud that it stifled conversation. You will be comfortable in either French or English.
Everyone was friendly and having a great time - if it's your first time just tell them at the front door and they will make you feel most welcome.
And speaking of dancing - there was a female couple dancing so teasingly and sensually (not salaciously) that my glasses nearly melted as I watched!
