so far there is no signicant impact at all.

However, there are more tgirls available right now.

But if we can maintain the level of our service as well as our reputation and our looks, hopefully everything will be fine.

I know some girls who are already feeling the pinch.

But it may also be due to the cold weather.

Is business slower in the winter ?

Hopefully the recession will not last too long and things will go back to normal.

Personally business is slower during winter. Especially for those girls who live in the suburbs like myself.

It's hard to imagine somebody coming to see us during snowstorm for instance.

Downtown girls probably do better in winter..but they also have more competitors

Two weeks ago my neighbour knocked at my door saying goodbye.

She just got fired due to downsizing.

So it is not a myth but it is definitely not a recession yet. things in general are a little slow, so they call it economic meltdown. I would call it economic slowdown.

Hopefully it will be better next year, even though some have scary predictions of our economy for next year.

If only we coud live within our means we would be fine. Taking out mortgages and giving out mortgages worth 80% of the property is a great example. I feel bad for the people who purchased the AAA CDO's.

Tighten your belts everyone, the Gravy Train has pulled into the station and most of us have to get the fuck off it.
Sure there are some who will not be heavily affected, but the majority are in for a rough time. Save your pennies, you're going to need them.
you're only as sick as your secrets.

                1981

that was a really bad recession. many in the enginerring field were out of work for over a year. many took any job for any amount just to survive.

many houses were abandoned in calgary and the banks had to assume ownership because people returned to europe.

hopefully its not coming again but if things get as bad as the 1981 recession then we are all screwed.

just a word of advise for those celebrating the xmas holidays, keep it low.

even the leafs and habs are losing tonite.

cheers all keep your heads up.
                according to some, not trangendered

Absolutely true. Harder times are a-coming for the middle class. And for those barely squeaking by now, they'll soon be stripping their wallpaper to make borst. Just wait until January, when the major retailers can't pay their electric bills, rent, and payroll due to abysmal Holiday sales.

This economic downturn is a feedback loop and it's just getting started, sad to say.

When the boxing day sales are starting in November like in TO and Montreal right now -- you know things are looking grim.

The days of $300 T-girl encounters may well be numbered and yes, your reality check is in the mail.

Life is never fair, isn't it?

I have client yesterday who owns a child care business, and he said business is booming since both parents are forced to work and leave the kids at the centre.

Few days ago, i had a consultant and a fruit importer who told me that they haven't had any impact yet.

                        On the other hand,
Last week, my neighbour has lost her job. She used to work in tourism.
Again last week, a developer complaint that the business is very slow.
Two weeks ago, a carpet owner had to close one of his stores...

O well..at least gas price is much better now..
we can't do much but work harder and be positive.

                          Yeah.

Things are getting tighter. A company I know, in the auto sector, is cutting their hours from 16 hours per day to 14 hours per day. This company is well positioned and is a supplier to one of the strongest OEM's making one of the few models with strong sales.

Also, in the auto sector....there is a report that Magna is owed $4 billion by GM. Don't believe for a moment that the Magna boys aren't sweating

Still as the adorable Tia says continue being positive. And she once told me 'her' story and it's not by accident that she's selected the name Phoenixx. So she's lived the positives so she knows.

Prepare for the worse, hope for the best.

We will all get by, but the days of 200 and 300 dollar trists with your fav TS is coming to an end. Kids need clothes, running shoes, food in their belly, budgets are going to be drawn up and an accounting is going to be on the table.
