Translation - blood tests for herpes are virtually useless, because almost everyone has oral herpes, and blood tests can't tell if it's oral or genital. I've been through the battery of STI tests more times than I can remember, and not once have they done a blood test for herpes - it's a swab, and they only do it when there's physical evidence. Since I've never had any symptoms, I've never had it done.
