How to delete receiving messages

Before, when I subscribed to follow a thread, I would get an email notifying me there was a new posting to that thread. There was also a link to use if you wanted to stop receiving notifications. Now these notifications go through the message center and I cannot find a way to stop them. Advice please!

A bit convoluted, go to your profile, you will see a box with word subscriptions and a number.
click it. It will take you to a blank subscription page.
There is a pull down there that you can choose subscription or block list. Select subscriptions.
then you get the list to unsubscribe

I would say a bit convoluted is the understatement of the year so far, LOL. I have 111 pages of subscribed posts and they are arranged in alphabetical order so finding a post would be very time consuming to say the least. BTW, thanks for your help far2crazy.
