  • any UFC fans on the site?

Going to be a great card tonight, with three main event type of fights. So any UFC fans on this forum.

By the way GSP is a monster and he fights BJ Penn next month, it's going to be a great fight. Georges is my favorite fighter and hails from Canada!

        Wtf

That was a terrible card.....Noguiera and Silva lost. I have been a huge MMA fan going on 10 years and this card broke my heart. Nog and Wandy are two of my favs both losing badly really hurt.

Rashad winning was good though I like Forrest but should be the champ he has no power.

Kidding about the card it was good i am just a little bitter about two of my favs going down like that.

Rampage knocked Axe Murder out cold, it was pretty brutal.

Great card....interesting turn out of the fights.........I wish they would show more of the pre-fights and under card matches.....some times they are better because the guys are really trying to make anme for themselves......

remeber..there is never a lucky punch........if it was a lucky punch the guy would not have tried to throw it......

I dont know if i would call this a great card as all the fights were lopsided other than Forrest Rashad. I dont think a fight got out of the second round. Also because of the short nature of the fights they ended up showing every prelim fight they had.

It looks to be an epidemic as the Dreams NYE event and Sengoku Year End event had a bunch of lopsided fights that ended very quickly. Hopefully this is not an indication of whats gonna happen in 2009.

I dont mean this in a bad way but it looks that way to you because you have zero knowledge and understading on BJJ. BJJ Muay Thai and Wrestling are the back bone of MMA and all involve very close fighting. This close fighting makes them extremely potent and makes them work real well in real situations.

Whats the other one that chuck norris created? Chuck is basically a striker...Karate Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do. Pure strikers have very little chance of surviving against a well rounded MMA fighter grappling/striking.

Also kind of ironic you calling full combat martial arts gay looking on a Tgril forum.

                      sorry lupo

you are right Lupo im not much into martial arts at all and i dont want to seem to denigrate the shows. it is just that it was the first image that came into my mind when i saw the wrestling. i am sure the guys that do it are very tough. i am really a huge fan of pure boxing and being 58 i can remember when Ali appeared on the scene, but the boxing world needs some new boxers to liven the sport up. it had become as gery as don kings hair.

My apologies I always am a bit touchy and constantly defend the sport I love. There are so many misconceptions about MMA....many centred around brutality and the danger. It is actually safer long term to a fighters health than boxing.

Ali actually participated in one of the first cross discipline matches ever. He fought Antonio Inoki in Japan, Inoki is a grappler/wrestler. Match was terrible however and nothing happened other than Inoki kicking Ali in the shins from the floor for 10 rounds.

Unfortunately boxing is on the decline. The HW division is terrible and that is typically the showcase divsion for boxing. Oh well maybe some new exciting talent can turn it around.....and De La Hoya has to retire. He looked terrible against Manny.

de la hoya i believe is trying to increase the interest in boxing by actually doing it, i thinkk he want to be a promoter and be involved in the business end of boxing. i hope he stays retired so he doen't scrambble his brains.

Your not gonna like this but......Golden Boy Productions (Oscars promotion company) has been in talks with Afliction to co-promote shows that have MMA and boxing.
