As a practioner of various forms of martial arts, including Muay Thai Kickboxing and a admirer of T-Girls, I picked up the film Beautiful Boxer 'cause I figured it'd be a win-win choice. Was it ever a great film! Based on the real life story of Parinya Charoenphol (Nong Toom), a Muay Thai boxer who trained and fought to raise money for her poor family and save money for her sex change operation to become a woman.
I'm planning to head to Thailand and train at Fairtex Pattaya or Bangplee in the next year or so, and I hope I get a chance to train with her too. She does operate a Muay Thai camp, but not sure if I'd be welcome there as I read it's strictly for women and children. But anyway...good on her to do that.
I'd figure I'd mention this for those who like a good film, good fight scenes, or looking for inspiration.
Here she is looking stunning whether it's her modelling shots or just kicking ass!
