As an escort, yes some of us pay only little part of our income or not at all.
For a short run, it sounds great....get the money without taxes.

However, as Nikki and you have mentioned, we do not have any protection from the goverment as well as no stability in our lives.

Yes, it will definitely catch us up in a long run.

For escorts, it is important to save our money, because our time is ticking.
We never know about the economy, future competition, and the cycle of the business.
And as i said before..it may happen that we run out of clients or worse..got STD, molested, harrassed...and the worst...murdered.

It is important for everyone to save their money. People are losing their jobs left and right these days.

After re-reading this thread it is interesting to see that most of the working girls are very defensive over the paying their taxes. While I am 99.9% positive that the working girls do not declare more than 50% of their income, if not any, it was interesting to read Nikki's arguments on why she should not be paying taxes despite the obvious freely share amenties (i.e. hospitals, garbage-free streets, educational subsidies and etc.). I think if people re-read this thread and give their input from some new members or moderators it would be interesting, at least for me from a discussion standpoint.

I recently learned, there is in fact an Informant Leads Program where you can contact someone from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to report these persons. They have claims about how many criminals they catch. I would love to know how many of these are escorts and drug dealers ... zero. However, working girls not paying tax is not what bothers me as much as what you will read below.

Now this is what irks me based on a thread I recently read about poor service. Several working girls have worked real jobs with are source deducted and know how hard it is to earn that money after taxes which honest men are using to buy their services. Full knowing that, how can you provide poor service to the men (i.e. saying you are versatile but you are not, answering the phone, booking on the hour and rushing).

I need a good defence to this ongoing debate. Something tells me it will be, but I always provide good service and I pay taxes!

Comparing self employment to being and employee is like comparing apples and grapefruit.

Escorts are self employed and get all the same benefits as all other self employed people. But, in fact, Revenue Canada is not in the business of deciding if what you do is illegal, they just want you to pay taxes on what you make. They are not going to argue legality if you are claiming all your income. Restrictions enforced by the police are generally not the taxmans worry.
(If you claimed to be a drug dealer that would be different.)
Good call on the EI. But yes, it is RCMP's job to take care of their career choice. The CRA just wants their cut of it.

        subsidized.
        Free condoms at the clinic?

        do you homework...
roads and sidewalks come out of regional property taxes not income tax.

condoms at a clinic... usually donated by the condom companies or out of regional allotments.

education is about it on your list.

reasons for escorts to claim at least a portion of their income...
establish a income history so they can apply for mortgages and loans.
curtail the tax man from sniffing around why you have not filed any income in years yet can live in a decent appartment and have a decent bank account.
support programs that are there from the tax money, like welfare, education, police services.

cannot think of any more right now.

Tax problems is just another reason why gals should live up to their verbal contract obligations, especially when they work out of their homes/condos etc.
rather then tour which all expenses would be written , 100 %
while some write offs at homes/condo's may sound computer alarms

            HAPPY NEW YEAR

Actually the Canadian government pays about 50% an amount you never see. Ask any foreign exchange student what they are paying.
