What place the forum?

I usually only comment on threads started by others, but recent events have induced me to ask a general question.
What is the nature of a forum and what are the obligations and or responsibilities of the members toward each other?
Does disagreement constitute attack? If so, when does that become detrimental to the forum as a whole? Should a forum be used as a way to interact openly with like minded individuals or is it a familial setting where some things aren't discussed lest one member or another be insulted?
I guess that's more than one question but you get the idea.

ok lets get this out in the open like grown ups. this forum is about all of us on the forum.
it is about sex.
it is about life.
it is about death.
it is about freedom.
it is about sharing experiences so we can cope and say 'i am not alone'

it is about what ever we want it to be as long as admin permits it.

there have been some enormously informative and factual threads that have helped many.

a lot of the threads are about sex of course. how else do we learn.

it is for crying out in pain and friends help you.
it is about helping others.

there are two forms of talk. facts and opinions.
sometimes we have to understand that a friend has become fucked up in life and needs help. that person does not want lectures. opinions yes. how to cope yes.

in my life experience has taught me to react negatively against authority.
it has cost me jobs. and friends. that might explain things.

everyone here has the right to express an opinion and all opinions are cast with equality. we may not like some opinions and we should say so in an adult fashion.

i will be posting a thread aboout heart attacks. it has nothing to do with sex or transexuality. but it will be informative and it will need a person with a better education than me to help inform with regards to transitioned people.

i hold no grudges and wish only to live peacefully with as little emotional pain as can be because i am at the end of emotions and need to find some peace and solice.

its both,for me i know maybe 100 people in here personally mostly from work so from my perspective its easy for me to read between the lines of whats being said but maybe from a guys perspective its way different without the inside knowledge.

I think it is a bit of everything you have described. We are generally strangers (In general don't know peoples real names, their families, their real interests beyond this forum). There are exceptions. I know a few people here on a more 'biblical' level and some others on here are good friends.

Generally we post anonymous posts. In anonymity people are likely to say things they would not say in a face-to-face conversation. Capitus is not my real name or who I am, but rather my nom de guerre, a character I have loosely based on who I really am. My family does not know Capitus.

So, were I mean-spirited or had an axe to grind that may become a part of my character. In combination with anonymity some things get written that would not be said in person. I try hard not to be offensive, as I believe says more about me than the person I am offending. Obviously, not everyone feels this way.

Some are on here for the escort review board, some for porn (yes there is a bit, here and there), some for curiosity, some for discussion of transgender issues, some for discussion of sex worker issues, some for advice, some for personal contact, some for lifestyle issues....there is no common discussion but for that involving tgirls. This forum is unlike most other forums I've participated in, in that its scope is rather broad.

So, in short, this forum is to see hot pictures of Lisa Paradise et al.
