Any language is a form of communication, and I guess if one wanted too, they could probably write a convincing thesis that any form of communication is in it's own way, a language. So if people feel that this new "internet" language with its common 1 letter words and emoticons can still get the message across it may be deemed acceptable here and in other places on the web.

But whether it is through the proper use of the English language or a (for lack of better term) a bastardization of it, we still have the option of choosing which way we want to communicate. How we choose to express ourselves reveals just as much, if not more, about who we are, as is the message we are trying to communicate. Therefore, when reading posts (I am a newb here so there is plenty for me to catch up on) I try to absorb more than just the written word since I believe if you can get an idea of who the person is behind their comments, you get a better understanding of what they are trying to say... whether it is in good english or not.

Impressive (and this is not meant as a jibe but a compliment), here I though Marshall was only quoted in Universities and somewhat decent Canadian Heritage clips. Who knows if the economy doesn't pick up, we may even get a taste of Nietzsche soon. or should that be

... isn't it a lot of fun to sometimes question some fundamental beliefs? But apart from some light weights like Mcluhan and Nietzsche, wait till I have an opportunity to bring in the heavy weights like Scooby Doo and and the Kool Aid Man.. "Oh Yeah!" Unfortunately.. and shamelessly, I run the full gambit.

Nothing lightweight about scooby doo. He packs more into an interrogative grunt than most philosophical texts.
As for my man Kierkegaard, I will coin his term: kontrastgefuldt. (Apologies for the spelling if in error.) It is a mixture of pity, fear and horror. Sums up my reactions to the odd post on here.

Nothing to worry about - I assure you, that was the high point of my day. Well, I guess 4:20 was the high point, but the boob-shaking was definitely the best part!

Truth to be told, my life is pretty boring these days. My recovery is going great, but I'm going stir-crazy here. I have all this free time since I finished classes, and hadn't been venturing out much before this week - doctor's orders and all that. I can only watch so many episodes of The Simpsons before I start to get bored. . .
