What type of club is Goodhandys?

If Thursday nights are the best nights to go, I will have to wait a few weeks, as I will have to make my own long weekend to get out there, once school is over and my son is at his mother's for the summer.

I did manage to go to Goodhandy's on Thursday night and was really happy that I did. Being my first time, I have no problems admitting I was a little scared and nervous. As I took my first swig of beer, those feelings began to lessen. I was very happy that I had mentioned in this forum that I was going, since my shyness sometimes gets in the way of things. After a few minutes of being there, Jen came by and asked, are you Papa from the forum? From that point on, all those earlier feelings went away. I had a lovely chat with Jen, was also introduced to Kristopin and finally got to meet Nikki who I was anxiosly getting to know.

The place itself was a little smaller than I had anticipated and a little empty as I got there early around 9 PM. To be honest, I didn't think there was anything particularly special about the decor etc. But oh boy! As the place began filling up, the atmosphere became increasingly electric. The best way to describe it was just that I got the immediate feeling, that everyone there was just looking to cut loose and have a good time. No inhibitions, no worries.. just unbridled fun. That got me quite excited. Either that or maybe, just maybe it was because I had Nikki so close to me.. so.. but I digress (and I really like digressing!)

Unfortunately, I did have an early AM Audit that I needed to prepare for so I had to cut my time short. I did manage to catch the first burlesque show and am looking forward to seeing more. I also,(Reminder to PapaD: Kill the auditors) am looking forward to visiting the Diamond Room which I did not have time to visit. I will certainly be going back again.

Some things I did learn...

1) Leave the car at home. It was a pain to remember that I was driving and therefore moderated my alcohol intake.
2) Make sure I have nothing planned for the next morning (Are the auditors dead yet??)
3) If it is your first time and you feel awkward or nervous, understand that this is normal and trust that you will be well taken care of. I would recommend PMing someone from this forum and ask them if they will meet you there as I did, as it makes it easier. (Thank you so much sexyNikki!)
4) Cut loose and just let the energy take over you.

Thank you Jen and Kristopin for the chats and making me feel comfortable, and a special "big" thank you to YOU sexyNikki for everything... literally... from our psychological discussions about attitudes and behaviours (see, I remembered!), to your nice additions, and to... well, those "dirty" little things we like discussing. And yes, I like dirty too and you know I will be seeing you soon

Go on Thursday. It is like a regular night club, with some very interesting acts on stage. Watching Lucy and Lola share a stage is something not soon forgotten (nor do I want to).
