The massive increase of scammers posing as sex workers online is a serious issue. It is a universally negative problem, harming both legitimate sex workers and clients alike. Only the scammers benefit from these crimes, and because law enforcement has no interest in becoming involved, we must try to solve this issue ourselves. I have some ideas, but it will take a number of us coming together to create the change we all want to see.
The biggest problem is that basically all of the clients are on LL. Unfortunately, even if we were able to achieve the impossible, and somehow convince the majority of clients to migrate here or to another platform, the scammers would undoubtedly join the migration.
With the operators of basically any advertising platform prioritizing advertising revenue above all, the resistance to scammers looking to place ads on any new platform, will be minimal at best.
The scammers know law enforcement has zero interest in this mess, which emboldens them to operate at the extreme level we are now witnessing.
The only way this can be stopped, or even slowed, is informing clients of what to look for, and the steps to take to prevent themselves getting scammed.
Knowledge is power. The current ignorance displayed by the majority of clients makes them nearly powerless against this scourge on our industry.
The only possibly effective idea I have had, is if the clients and sex workers of this forum were to come together, and donate to a fund to finance an information campaign. This campaign would operate via ads posted on the LL pages in every major market.
These ads would warn potential clients of the high level of risk they face on LL, while informing of the steps they can take to mitigate said risk, and avoid becoming another victim. The ads would emphasize the extreme risks associated with the sending of deposits via e-transfer, directing to never send any money to any girl with whom you are not intimately familiar.
The finer details, like who would be entrusted with the donations, (Not me! Ideally it would be a senior member of the forum with whom everyone is familiar, and trusts) who would collaborate to compose the ad, etc.
I really believe this could have a very positive effect in our ongoing war with these scammers, and possibly even begin to put an end to the practice all together. The only way to force these scammers out, is to cut off the income stream LL currently provides.
It is my sincere hope that I once more and more potential victims become fully informed, the proceeds of their grift should slow to a trickle, making their efforts no longer profitable.
The only potential barrier to this plan, is LL themselves. Do you think they will even allow such an ad campaign on their platform? I have seen the odd ad warning of specific scammers on LL, but as an all out information campaign would undoubtedly have a negative effect on their bottom line, I’m not sure they would even permit it.
Please let me know your thoughts, or any ideas in the comments below.
I realize I’m quite new on this forum, so I’m mainly just putting this idea out there. I’m hoping a few trusted senior members will take this and run with it. Of course, I’m more than happy to assist in any way possible.

Knowledge is the deadliest weapon we have at our disposal, we just have to figure out exactly how to properly and effective wield that weapon.
Together, we can do this!
