Well this thread certainly bottomed out (if you'll pardon the expression on a tgirl site) in a hurry. I thought Monique's anger at the altercation was somewhat justified, but it saddens me that the response is on a par with "I hate faggots". That simply reinforces the nasty stereotypes which caused the altercation in the first place. Blanket intolerance is in my opinion the biggest plague facing mankind. If gays and tgirls can't share the same sidewalk what hope do the rest of us have?

So I was walking down Church St. with the baby puppy I am babysitting right now just strolling along and one of the gay boys in a large giggling group says 'oh i love that dog' and the other boy says 'i love the boy'. First of all I can see they aren't even sure I am a TS but they seem to be testing it and my patience. I know this because I live near that area and a lot of my gg friends get the same thing!

I do many things to support the gay community I've even gone to protests for gay marriage, done volunteer efforts at fundraisers etc. That is why it upsets me when gay men are really the ONLY people who have ever said anything negative to me about being trans ... Really the only people that ever made a rude comment to me are gay men!

I find this shocking. Of course there are many stereotypes about both of our communities and much is misunderstood you would hope that we were more supportive of each other as brothers and sisters.

When it comes down to something so complex like our prejudices there isn't really any one thing a person can do. Just keep your self positive and respectful to all that deserve it on an individual level.
