                pride

the first trans parade was very well attended both by parade goers and onlookers. the out pooring of cheers from the onlookers was exceptional and one could feel the emotions rising from everyone. the recognition and acceptance of the trans community was empowering. cant stop wont stop. we owe thanks to the organisers and ourselves for making this event a success. estimated people in the parade was around 700. we took an important step forward in demanding equal rights for the trans community simply by a show of numbers. we cannot be ignored anymore. everyone is going to have to deal with it. we are out. we are here.

i was so proud to be a member of this important step in the struggle for equality. we just have to find a way to keep the momentum going.

Yeah I am surprised at how few people I did recognize and I know many tgirls and tboys! Where were you people? Get out there next year!! If I had known about it I would have been there! Plan on seeing me next year!

Trans rights are important to stand up for for so many reasons. Remember how many people know anything about us, then ask yourself if it was Maury Jerry Spring or some other freak show! This is our chance to speak for ourselves.

Don't forget CAMH center for addictions and mental health still considers our 'condition' to be a 'mental illness' in 2009.

There are lots of reasons to go out and show support if you just think about it for a minute.

It looked like a great turn out. Maybe next year it can be sexied up a bit more. Some floats with sexy Tgirls in sexy clothing. Love to see Lucy, Alyssa, Lola and Lisa on a float.

the community is much larger than those just at goodhandy's. it is a sex club and not all trans are involved.

it's unfortunate that goodhandys is used merely for business means! someone should capitalize on that ... we need another tgirl night there or another bar catering to us!

i was thinking of a cafe or something. a place where info can be shared, a bulletin board, maybe a little stage for live music. totally informal. just a nice cosy drop in centre.
