  • Calgary Craigslist Crackdown !!!

too make a long story short, we had 6 room kicked out of hotel, working girls, and had a few others denied access by our discretion by their looks. (you need electronic key to access floors in hotel), the 6 inch highheels and miniskirts kinda gave it away.

met with police yesterday and they thanked us for being observant and letting them know any illegal activities going on.

NOW, they are always MAJOR sweeps by the Police, in Calgary during Stampede, so I'm not trying to scare anybody, but you might want to be a little careful in future.

they did mention that they have officiers who watch craigslist 24/7, he had a stack of ads.

their concern from what I gathered is, girls who advertise on craigslist with PRICES $$$ and links to their websites, are the ones they are going after.

I will also let you know that the 5hotel, Regency, and Days Inn got stiff warnings.

Maybe shemale canada should not allow prices to be posted, really it is easy enough for the guy to just call the girl and discuss it.

so the learning from this is, Don't put your prices on craigslist, and don't put link to your website.

Now what i found a bit conflicting was, they are hoping to have craigslist shutdown by the end of 2009, like the USA was last May, but if they get their info from craigslist, why would they want to shut it down, I don't know, doesn't make sense does it.

just the messenger, don't make the rules.
    how can't you love a t-girl ?

one thing I forgot to mention,

Alberta is one of those provinces where you are suppose to be licensed to be an escort, so if you get busted with no license, it won't be pretty.

Should we assume from your post that you were personally involved in this removal/exclusion of guests? Were any of them Shemales?

The first part of your post sounds weird.
Do you work at one of the hotels or you got them kicked out?
You were reporting people to the police?

Anyway I believe calgary police would have you charged for operating without a business license. I assume having the fee posted is the evidence the website is proof of who they are.

Anyway didn't Craiglist in the USA just become obligated to charge for escort ads to validate age? Not shut down?

6 rooms total for the week, I was not working every night, there is a direct line we call for what is called Police-Hotel, we just say we need a room removed for activity and they show up fairly quick, met with police and they followed up with us on the nights previous, what charges if any were laid, we were not told. First time usually they give a warning. We just want them out of the hotel and police to tell them not to return.

I don't understand why you say we should be charged but maybe i'm reading wrong,

The services erotic section on craigslist USA is gone, that is the area the Canadian girls use, now the USA site still has casual encounters, men seeking women, in their personal section, but under services, erotic has been gone for awhile. There are also no prices posted on USA ads.

I am not sure about them charging for ads, but you could be right.

I suppose that during a big event a lot of out of town girls hoping to cash in, try to set up shop in a good location. And then there's always the sleazy street types too who move uptown for the action but forget they are not on the stroll.

I have found that most Shemales are quite good though about discretion when they are out, but of course there have been a few that are so completely transparent as to their calling, that they may as well carry an advertising placard with their price. The same goes for genetic girl escorts too in my home town especially, but in Toronto I did not notice that so much when entertaining GG's.

In those cases I hoped that no one has seen them at my door either coming or going, and I am sure the hotel is not too pleased either about having those types in their establishment. At home my concern is for the neighbors. At home I live in a secure building so when an escort buzzes to be let in I wait at the door and open it so she does not have to knock, causing nosey neighbors to peer out their peep holes to see who is out at this old farts door.

                hmm

I have been traveling for awhile and have not as of yet "knocking on wood" had any problems with hotels. In fact I had a bad time in regina with one client and the hotel removed him from the building and moved my car to a more safer location. As well as the two really built hot guys accross the hall came out and waiting for the hotel staff to remove him.

Yes, I had them over for tea afterwards..lol

I also tip the maids and clean the room before I leave. I do not have like 10 guys comming to my room all day long. I also do not work late nights. I am quite, respectful and dress like a lady when getting to my hotel. My boobs are not used as chin rests...unlike some other girls....

From what I know hotels/motels do not bother you if your not causing problems. I mean if that out right know your a big whore...then yea that might have an issue. But if they suspect but your a good guest and are respectful, they will leave you alone.

                Thanks Dan for this update

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience in Regina, Tasha. I hope this doesn't change your mind about coming back this way again. I would have come & seen you when you passed through on your way home, but I was feeling under the weather. Hope to catch you on your next visit

                    Hiya! I'm new here.

Anyhoo, Dan, there were parts of your posting that made little sense. I got the impression you wrote it in a state of emotional agitation--was that the case?

As for Craigslist USA shutting down their erotic services section, I just cruised over and checked out several US cities boards, and erotic services is still there, only now it's titled 'adult'.

I don't think it is the prices that are the issues all the escorts sites including eros allow prices to be shown.

I think the prices just prove to the police that these individuals are conducting business. If they do not have a license or a do incalls then they are breaking the law. Charging or showing prices is not against the law.

They could to the same thing to any kind of business that was offering services for money yet did not purchase a business license.

                          Craigslist wins prostitute suit

                          Herald News ServicesOctober 23, 2009

A federal judge has thrown out a Chicago-area sheriff's lawsuit accusing the online classified group Craigslist of facilitating prostitution, court records showed.
"We welcome the judge's ruling," a spokeswoman for Craigslist said Thursday.
Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart sued the website in March to recover the money his department spent policing Craigslist-related prostitution in the Chicago area and to impose punitive damages for acting as a "public nuisance."
Craigslist said in May it would shut down the "erotic services" section of its website and create an "adult services" section in which all ads would be manually reviewed. The website--which offers users free advertising for everything from houses to babysitters to furniture for sale--had been under pressure for months from state law enforcement officials to drop "erotic services."
Dart argued the changes were cosmetic and users still post unlawful content. Judge John Grady wrote the website should bear liability as a facilitator of the ads, but ruled, while newspaper publishers may be held liable for the content of classified ads, Craigslist is shielded by laws protecting phone companies and websites from how people use their services.

I agree with it being the prices posted that gives the girls away. A good friend of mine works with police and mentioned that that is evidence they can use in court (posted prices).
