  • going radical need info.

okay time to tell you a few things. when i had my heart attack it had profound effects. from the surreal to reality. i felt i had been injured from the stress others had out on me. i felt control of my life had passed into the hands of others. with the economy going into the dumps i felt that any layoff would have been a career ender for me.

then i got to thinking that i was tired of my life being ruled by other people. i was tired of other people tearing my heart and emotions apart. now i am taking control and srew the consequences. i have figured the worst that can happen is i end up having to declare personal bankruptcy. this was scary at first then i realised it would free me to do what ever i wanted. i could take a much less paying job and perhaps find something in the trans community where i could help.

this has led me to the point where i can be a radical in terms of trans rights. in the very near future i will be doing an official name change and then i will tackle the issue of trans rights at the corp level where i work. i want to try to get them to realise that the trans issue is not going away and they need to be proactive and entrench trans rights within their employees handbooks. i want them to also guarantee discrimination against trans will not be tolerated just as it is now for gays, lesbians and so on all the way to religious rights.

so i need info. i am not a very good researcher. i got into college and out in three years. i could have gone on but was tired of being poor.
so research is where anyone here can help me. i need to know if there are any legal cases that went into a trans's favour over a corporation within canada. are there any legal cases before the courts now?

any link to educational info would be welcome.
any links to health issues also.
    any links to political allies.
    human rights issues. etc.

if you have any other ideas please let me know.
pm me if you want and i can give you my phone number.

watch out world kristy is here.

hi, i did take Manulife Financial to the human rights commision aprrox 4 years ago for discrimination, actually had them hook Line and sinker so they realised they be better off negotiating (mediation),after 9 stressful hrs(went it alone) we came to agreement on a settlement, alot of these settlements are under the agreement nothing is really to be discussed about the case.. chantel xox

      eh bien merci beaucoup Chantel.
i am gathering all the info i can. my plan is to try to get a major corp to entrench trans (gender rights) into their dogma. this is something i plan to do regardless of the consequences simply because i can. i owe it to someone on this forum to help all other trans folks assert their rights. if i can do it for one corp then maybe the presedence will be set and all other corps will have to follow. maybe a dream but as MLK said 'I have a dream'. i will have done it also for my own rights.

      gods bless all Kristy.

Hi hon, arguing a case before the OHRC is not as complex as in a court of law,you pretty much state what happend in laymens terms and your case is reviewed as it goes along, there quite helpful there if you run into problems presenting your case. chantel xoxo

Yeah I know. I did intend to go. That's not my only reason for being absent, it was much more complicated than that. I was just pointing out that I wouldn't have really felt the same amount of pride as others for the chance to march because I haven't been on the scene making a difference for nearly as long.

Anyway, I'll try to find some info on this cause of yours when I can.

the parade was wonderful. the emotions were really running high. at one point when all the people on the sidewalk started cheering i had to just stop a bit and take it all in, i also had to stop the tears running down my face.
