This would be the best thing to try.

If you plan to try real hormones, I would suggest seeing a doctor.
You should understand the risks of taking things like this at your age.
A woman your age has no estrogen, why should you?
It is concerning that you ask about "Street Stuff".

not a concern. i do have all the info about HRT etc and understand all the effects and possible side effects and so on and so on and have talked to doctors and such. and i also understand all the risk seeing as i have had a heart attack. i thought this was going to stop me but found out it really is not a problem. i am not sure i want to do HRT but in case i do then yep i want all the info.

as far as streets its info gathering.

i was looking for homeopathic or herbal possablilites.

i have heard that their is accupuncture for this also?

    thanks admin, love ya.

Most herbal remedies won't be the best choice, as it's not exact measurements in those pills, but if you still want to try, any drug store should sell things for menopause which you could try. I remember about a year ago, my drug store was behind on stocking up my HRT(Depo Evra patches), and after a few days without changing the patch I started getting hot flashes and feeling generally shitty, so I started taking those until my perscription came in, and it definitely helped. So who knows, might as well try.

As for street HRT, I can't give too much advice on it. I've known people who got their HRT from whoever they could, and ended up super fucked up. Check online for the pharmacies which ship without perscription from overseas. Might be a slightly safer bet than getting it off the street.

The only HRT-like herbal remedy or nutriceutical that has shown any evidence of effect is Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa). It is sometimes recommended for women who are averse to HRT post-menopause or post-hysterectomy. Studies of black cohosh have a small effect size so no definitive conclusions can be drawn at this time, but it looks like there is an effect. There are also some reports of hepatotoxicity with long term use.

however, if you are looking for a herbal instead of HRT, this is probably the one to try.

It'd definititely possible you'll be stuck taking huge huge amounts to get the same results pharmaceutical HRT can offer you. Which also usually means it's cheaper to go through a doctor in the long run.
And like Capitus said, hepatotoxicity is not a joke.

              Toxicity of the liver.

Well, I guess something being toxic TO the liver, to be technical.

I'm with Lisa on this. If you're really Transsexual, it's not hard to get HRT, and it's much healthier having a doctor help you out.

i am already at sherbourne thanks. so i do have all the HRT info.

i searched the net last night for several hours looking for herbal choices.

black cohosh seems to be the main item and it has a history dating back to our first nations peoples. the pioneer doctors used it for treating 'womens ailments' and so on. it has recently seen an increase in interest as an altenative to HRT in women because of the increase of breast cancers and other problems associated with HRT.

as i said before i am not sure yet if i want HRT so i am just gathering all the info i can and so if there is a herbal choice then i would like more info on that.

there is also the four corners pharmacy for ordering off the net.

thanks everyone for your input and concerns.

If you're already at Sherbourne, why not just get a script through them? If you have your heart set on the herbal route however, I wish you the best of luck.

I'm going to chime in. As a person that self medicated for about 1.5 years about 5 years ago..

                          a) herbals are a waste of money, you have to take almost toxic levels
                          b) I'm against self medicating, due to almost dying from complications from my diabetes and self medicating hrt
                          c) I understand we all gotta do what we have to do to survive

If you are seeing a doctor at a clinic, do it that way, your life is worth more then dying. Also cause of your recent health status you *must* be under a doctors supervision if you even want to go on HRT. Hormones affect so much in your body, mental, metabolism, healing, blood clot risks etc, this list is long. But I supposed you are aware of it.

                          just my opinion, nothing more.

                              no worrys

as i said before i am not making any immediate plans but just gathering for the future. i wouldn't mind HRT as a way of allowing my body to change to a more female shape. but that is a decision that will not be taken lightly. my main concern would be blood clots. it also has to monitored properly due to the heart meds i am on.

thanks again and i do appreciate ALL the comments and help.
i know i can search this out on the net but seems more reasonable to ask here as there is no point surfing around for hours when it has already been done. i hate to waste time.

                              Kristy.
