  • something different, what's your fav foods?

This might be a topic for some but I thought it would be a change of pace. A couple of years ago I was a line cook at a restaraunt who's head chef was from New Orleans. We did some crazy southern foods. But I'm always curious about peoples favorite foods. Like chicken teriyaki fettucini, green apple cilantro crab cakes, okra gumbo and on and on.

So my question to you, what's your favorite food or what was a dish at restaraunt that floored you because it was amazingly good?

    ...

Well. I'll share something with everyone that may shock many. I am extremely allergic to chocolate. I can not have chocolate as it make me horribly ill. I break out and sweat and swell up. People I say this too don't understand it and neither does my doctor but it is what it is....

As for other food I'm open to mostly anything. Currently love dim sum as also some pastas. Beverages are a toss up. I like juices, beer, love fine wine but no Coca Cola or Sprite or anything like that.

I like a bit of everything. Pizza, hamburgers, shawarma, sushi, dim sum, tacos, fish and chips. Just let me at that buffet table. I do have a weakness for potato chips. I have to be careful because I've eaten one of those big bags in one sitting. Just can't stop at just one. I should revive one of my old threads about finding a good place to eat in Toronto.

      I don't like olives though.

I've done the whole bag of chips in a sitting many times. It is so easy to do. I think chips are a fetish of mine when it comes to food.

I love steak also but hate cooking it, especically for customers at the restaraunt. If it wasn't perfect to their likings they would send it back. Everytime a steak came up and I was running the line that night I'd have a mini panic attack. LOL pad thai honestly I have not had but I truly enjoy pho.

I have a poster of that on my wall that I bought in university years ago. When I saw a photo of it online, I downloaded it immediately. The actual poster is getting dirty and ragged. Secondly I love cats and used to have one but now where I live I can't have one. Worst of all, I am mildly allergic to cats. I put up with my allergies for years because I could not bare to get of the little guy. It sucks because I loved having that unconditional love that pets give you.

Yea, I luv cats also. I had to put my cat of 16 years down last new years. It was hard I had her since she was a ball of fuzz in my hand. Pets are amazing, they know when you are down, they wake you up at 4am to be fed...etc..

Wow Paula I you are beautiful and you are a restaurant quality chef. You get more and more attractive all the time.

I don?t know that this is the best meal ever, it the last great meal I had. There is a little restaurant in Edmonton called the Red Ox Inn. It only seats 20 people so the owner and chef can make sure he spends enough time on each meal.

The appetizer was warms goats cheese salad with cranberry and port dressing.

The main course was venison with a blueberry reduction.

The desert is the single best bread pudding around.

They also have amazing tenderloin medallions with cognac and wild mushrooms. The beef absolutely melts in your mouth.

Oh well off to cook dinner. Black Bean Soup, Crispy Sage Potatoes, and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breasts.

There is alot about me people don't know, but it will trickle out now and again. Maybe the mysterious is the better thing. The restaraunt is noted, if I ever get to Edmonton I'll try to check it out.

Hmm, that sounds yummy. send me the left overs via fedex. LOL

I lived in Rock Hill, SC for a couple of months back in 2006. It was a food experience that I will not forget. Hot hot hot food. Collard greens, true cornbeef, frogs legs. We used to eat pickled jalapenos and seranos out of the can and cooked with habaneros.

And omg the jalopeno cornbread is to dye for.

*edit* and the true classic biscuits and white sausage gravy, I could eat that all day.
