we often get caught up in our own little circle and make the (unjustified) jump from there to the world. progress has been made, but i still there are lots of people out there who would avoid hanging out with something who wasn't clearly passable. to reiterate what someone said earlier though, passable and attractive aren't synonymous. i like to think i'd be comfortable enough in such a situation and if i wasn't, that i would progressively become so.
