I know you talk to the people about it and they look at all your finances with you, and decide if it's the best choice for you, or if a payment program is a better option. My parents looked into it before when I was a kid, and got a payment program thing instead, but a friend's parents just recently filed and lost their car, etc. No real knowledge of past that point of what to do.
