  • Where to go and stay in Thailand

Ok I am looking for some suggestions from those who have been to Thailand, and obviously from Cake as well. I am going to have to book my trip to Thailand soon. Any suggestions on ladyboy friendly hotels in Bangkok, Chang Mai, Pattaya, and Phuket. I like to stay in nice hotels. Three or four star ratings. I am like anybody, I like good deals, but not at the expense of comfort.

I am planning on staying for a few weeks. Any suggestions for other places I should go while I am there.

    Bangkok Hotel:
    Dynasty Inn Grande
    http://www.dynastygrande.com/
Not to be confused with the Dynasty Inn.
Hotel is nice reasonably priced and in a fairly quiet spot.
The hotels allows up to 2 guests free of charge and doesn't bat an eye at ladyboys or ladies. If you try and bring more than 2 they will charge you.
Not recommended to get alone with too many ladyboys at once anyway.

American Brand hotels will be american prices.
Thai Brand hotels are thai prices.
asiarooms.com has many but the Dynasty Grande is great for the first timer. I like it especially because you are not smack in the middle of the action all the time and it is 4 star-ish.

However it is only 3 blocks from the action at Nana Plaza.
Nana Entertainment plaza has the single best ladyboy bar anywhere called "Obsessions". You absolutely have to go to this bar, and, as a single man.
"Guess Bar" is another great bar located in the Nana Hotel complex.
The drug store right across from Nana Plaza has excellent products available without a prescription.
Also try the BBQ in this area, Right beside "Big Dogs" an excellent Beer Bar in which to start the evening.

Do not carry too much cash since ATMs are everywhere.
Do get more than one ATM card from different banks since cards are easily cut off during trips to Thailand.

    For Shopping in Bangkok.
Pratunam Market will give you the best in outdoor shopping with decent prices and clothing like crazy.
Floating Market is very far from central Bangkok but i heard has very good prices.
MBK shopping centre is my favourite because you get all the same stuff and prices as the outdoor markets with indoor modern building with air conditioning.

    That is for starters.
I can give you more info on other spots.

    Remember.
You get a 2 week Visa on entry to Thailand as a Canadian citizen.
This means you must leave the country after two weeks and come back in, or apply for an extended stay Visa.
I found Singapore allows Canadians and Thais without a visa.
It is much more expensive than Thailand but a good hopping point on the way to Phuket from Bangkok. Also just a beautiful place.
I can also tell you where to find Ladyboys in singapore.
