In as much as I started this thread, I must say that I totally agree with those that feel it was wrong of Barbie to start babbling about her hate for her own mother. Regardless of whether she started out her comments with condolences for Lucy, the rest of her comments were out of line, plain and simple.

Why can't people just walk away from an argument. This is a serious thread and all this infighting is absolutely childish and stupid. Someone died! I agree that maybe Barbie was out of line, but also the discussion hit a nerve with her. But we don't have to tear into her for it. Let is pass and don't drag this out into a bitchfest. Lucy you have my deepest condolences. I hope you find strength in your family, friends, and faith (if you practice one). We have never met but feel to email me, if you want to talk or need a shoulder to cry. I have also lost a parent.

we all need to respect people for their opinions and the ways in which we express oursevles. so long as it doesn't regard threat or harm.
simply because we may not see it as appropriate or "in proper fashion" doesn't mean it's our place to tell people the things we should say or shouldn't. ultimately it's up to immediate individual to determine whether that manner works with them or against.

To Lucy, I do not know you personally, but I emphasize the sadness you may be going through. I lost my great grandmother a year and a half ago, she was my only mother figure, and I will always miss her.
I remember I kept going through all the things I wish I said to her, the things I did for her after she passed. You sometimes live in regret overthinking the things we could've done more for the person.
But it was retaining the important memories, the things about her that made me smile, and laugh that made me feel happiness again even when if I was crying.

In life we are only given one guarantee, and that is death. It was through my experience with death that I finally learned to appreciate and value each morning, each breath I take and each thing that makes me smile and laugh.

Again I am sorry for your loss Lucy. Just remember that you do have friends and support if you ever need it. I wish you all the best.

Try and smile at least once a day, it really makes a difference.
