I open this thread and read this guy saying that we hide behind the Americans? What the ... is this guy talking about? Some barely veiled reference to hiding behind the great might of the USA? That really shows up his own opinion is of himself as an American - arrogant as hell and proud of it!

I hope Canadians are never associated with this kind of rhetoric. This is what creates resentment in other countries, this arrogance.

I think the forum is much nicer since Admin put a stop to all the fighting. I do not think that every insult merits a nomination to the "Asshole Awards" but I do agree that when someone crosses the line and keeps on going, this is a nice addition to the rules.

my dad is proud of me that I have enough class and self respect to not act like I'm 8 years old. And we'll at least I look like a very goodlooking man if I resemble my father which sadly enough we can't really say for yourself mister.
I hope your new year brings you some realization that any person who hides behind a screen, slanders without purpose, and admits to a malicicous closed minded personality is truely pathedic by every definition.

This is bang on .. great post!! I see the American arrogance alot as I know a few, but some of the sweetest people I know from there also. Too bad the majority however are very arrogant and believe they are gods gift to mankind.

but trust me, what people have to say about me doesn't bother me. good or bad opinion is simply personal. i know who i am and no matter what other people say, that'll never change.

now i think it's alittle testy to say that there's a general arrogance about americans. simply only because arrogance is everywhere. big cities, small towns, in canadians and americans. life is logically about balance.

in our own way, whether people will agree with this or not, many people also find canadians arrogant. we live in a politically correct culture, which already underminds the opinions of others that may in some sense offend someone. we pedistal ourselves in a high position of education when it comes to social and liberal awareness.

just as the initial reason for this thread, we have to watch how juvenile and arrogant we sometimes allow ourselves to be seen, before we determine that nature in others.
