Jenny Craig works for me. You loose on average 3-4 pounds a week. The food portions are small so eating extra veggies help. Cost around 180 every 2 weeks and they even deliver!

I used to be 250lbs and over the last 2 years have lost over 100lbs. I'm now at 147! My honest secret to maintaining a steady weight loss was by maintaining a consistent workout schedule balanced between weight training and cardio, keeping well hydrated and eating anywhere between 6 -10 small meals a day. (this was different depending on what my routine was that day)

My cardio first started off simply as 45 mins 3 days a week. Just maintaining a steady pace. One of the ways you build up your stamina with cardio is by focusing on your breathing. If you start off small and build up over time, you're able to keep a more consistent flow of oxygen to your muscles, which means less cramping and more energy to keep pushing. Personally I find doing your cardio routines outdoors, which provides much more natural resistance from the terrain, helps me get a much more satisfying run.

I was also advised that the fastest way to lose weight is from alternated intensity circut cardio. This basically means that if i were using the cardio equipment for example in the gym, i would start off on a light jog on the tread mill for 10 mins, then run over to the stairmaster and run at a fast pace for 5-10mins, to an eliptical for 5 mins on a steady job, over to the stationary bike where I would ride really high and fast for 5 - 10 mins, then back to the tread mill for a high inclined fast walk to keep the resistance up but still slow the heart down.

Weight training is just as important as cardio. This not only helps building core strength which in turn helps with balance but also helps prevent the possibility of a future tummy tuck.

These are just all suggestions and I'm not advising them upon anyone without first seeing a physician about exercise. I highly suggest always getting at least 5 sessions with a personal trainer in your gym. They will best help develop a workout routine that fits around your personal goals and challenges.

I used to practice and work in a Moksha (hot) yoga studio. While yoga is amazing for absolutely every aspect of your body, not all forms of yoga provide enough cardiovascular intensity to help you lose weight in a timely manner. It does help you lose weight tho usually very gradual and is especially amazing for toning and keeping your mind and spirit at peace. If you are to try some type of yoga and want something that you will see alot more benefit from, try Bikram Yoga. It's very similiar to Moksha, as it taught in a heated room which our studio's was 102 degrees F so get ready to sweat, but is alot more difficult in the construction of it's flow of poses.

I still practice yoga nearly everyday just to keep my stresses at ease. Yoga is really only about 10% physically engaging. The rest is all mental and spiritual stimulation.

So if your gym has some classes, definitely try it out.

            Namaste

I'm a cyclist but 6 or 7 years ago I wanted to get "buff" and I gained almost 60lbs. That summer I soon found out I couldn't ride my bike more then a few km's without getting tired. So I made the decision that "buff" isn't always better. It took me a year to gain that weight and took only 3 months to lose it. All I had to do was watch what I ate and I would ride my bike every chance I got. Soon I was back to doing 100km rides
