And now for English. I live in Calgary now and I think I understand what goes on here pretty well. So there are several things on this thread that need clarification.

First of all, Lisa's surprise about "incalls". Paris is from Montreal so I am sure she will understand this very well. The criminal code is a Federal Statute. However, enforcement and interpretation varies from Province to Province. Ontarion is very liberal and LE do not bother escorts who do incalls. So I understand your surprise Lisa. But there are two Provinces that see things differently. Quebec is very hard on escorts. So is Alberta. In Alberta specifically, if you do an incall, you are deemed to have violated the "common bawdy house" section of the criminal code. Depending on what the goal is when you are busted, you will either be ousted from the Province or you will be arrested and 18 month sentences are not out of the question. In contrast, if you do an outcall, you are not violating the "common bawdy house" section of the code.

In addition to that, any escort working in Calgary must be licensed to do so by the City of Calgary. There is a bylaw that regulates that. If you work without a license and are unlucky enough to do so when a sweep occurs ( 5-6 times a year), you may receive a fine. The fines can be anywhere between $500 and $5000. Usually, the first fine is $1500 and if you are caught again, it will increase. This applies to incalls as well as outcalls. One time, I went on an outcall and it was the cops wanting to see my license. Of course, I have a license so it was ok - I was just pissed off that they wasted my time.

As Sunshine has pointed out below there is considerable difference amongst the provinces in their application of the Criminal Code of Canada in respect to prostitutuion. The first link below was taken from lyla.com with which some of you may already be familiar.

It will show you the actual wording of that act. That act is enforceable anywhere in Canada but provinces can decide how their enforcement resources are used. Yes, Ontario is fairly lenient, but charges are still often laid, especially as they apply to massage parlours but also to individual cases as well. Seems that some houses have mysteriously remained untouched for many years e.g. RoomMates, Oasis etc. even though they advertise openly to the public.

Google "bawdy house" or "common bawdy house", read a few pages of the stories and you will see that there are many arrests and charges still being laid in the area, GTA, Hamilton, Burlington etc.. Most of these though are where there are multiple girls involved.
