"London, Ont., cashier says she'll keep working after winning Lotto 6/49 jackpot!"


LONDON, Ont. - Despite winning more than $20 million Ontario's newest multi-millionaire has no plans to quit her job as a grocery store cashier.
The woman, identified only as Bonnie, won half the jackpot in Saturday's $41-million draw.
She works at a No Frills outlet in London, Ont., and dropped off doughnuts and coffee to her co-workers Monday before heading to Toronto to pick up her prize.
Bonnie told a London radio station she's still figuring out what to do with her newly acquired wealth.
She said she will take care of family and friends first, then help those who are in need.
Sales of Lotto 6-49 tickets jumped by 40 per cent ahead of Saturday's jackpot and Bonnie admits she's not usually a ticket buyer.
"I don't play the 6-49 because I don't pay the $2. I just had two toonies and I said 'it's $40 million, we might as well give it a try,' " she said.
"You just can't comprehend how much money you have. You just can't. God looked down on us for some reason, I don't know."
The second winning ticket was purchased in Edmonton but there is no word yet on the identity of that winner, or winners.

Ok what the fuck is going on here!?!? lol. If I won $2O million dollars, i would quit my job and travel the world and enjoy my life. Buy an expensive car, get lots of plastic surgeries, and save the rest of the millions in the bank and just live off the interests. I guess some people are work-a-holics, and they don't know what to fucking do, other then work, lol. I mean dosen't she realize she only has one life to live, and why waste her time on working when she can just enjoy the rest of her life not working but rather partying all the time. I guess there's a few screws missing from her head, so that explains why she still wanna work at a job making $12 an hour at the grocery store as a cashier. Now what would u do if u won $2O Million dollars? Would u continue working at ur regular job, or just enjoy ur millions?

i wonder if anyone ever put it into perspective that even with all that money, doesn't necessarily mean their life will be fulfilled. i mean i wouldn't quit my job here if i won or came into lots of money because i get some type of satisfaction out of being a part of here. maybe this is something she enjoys, and some people also appreciate making their own money. as well.. we all have different values, as she was quoated, she wants to help the less fortunate. so rather then being like what the fuck is wrong with her... think about what is right about what she's doing. we all put too much emphasis on the selfish natured components that we feel would make us happy. and not really think about whether or not it would, cuz i'm sure we'd find something else we'd dislike anyways.

Yes I agree Navaeh. Many selfish people out there and though some may not exhibit it directly on a subconscious level its there.

I got a question regarding one of the posts here. Is it truly a bad thing that she wishes to keep her job even though she is rich now? If she truly likes what shes doing then whats the big deal? I understand that there are those less fortunate who scrape by looking for something, anything to make ends meet but should we then tell that lottery winner to quit?

When you win millions how does that disqualify you from not being an "ordinary person"? It doesn't. The only thing that truly changes is your tax bracket. Yeah yeah yeah, you can afford the lavish "material" things .....like a new Ferrari......I guess some people would think thats important.

Do you think its fair or right to tell all lottery winners who strike it rich to just give up something they've done for say 5 years or a decade or whatever and thus limit them as to what they can do in the future?

Ya know. There are some people who after retirement that have a nice nest egg to live the rest of their life on but have vo idea how to spend their time let alone feel in adequate or unhappy because they are not prodyctive or miss the socializing. Do you not wonder sometimes why you see some retirees work at a department store or something like that.

If this person quits in a few days or weeks then so be it. They probably made a plan what to do with their cash but if they're saying they want to stay working youd have to think there is more to it.

i work 60 hours a week just to make ends meet and i'm no longer going to be doing any new shoots for shemaleyum. you will however see new sets come up.

Is that $20 million before or after taxes? If there are taxes on that, then the actual amount is probably closer to $12 million. How old is this woman? I'm 45 and I know if I won $12 million tomorrow, I'd keep working for a while, until my kids were finished with college. I'd put $10 million away and not touch it for 10 years, and then after that 10 years, live off of the interest. But if I quit right now and just lived off the $12 million for another 40-45 years, the yearly interest/equity on that wouldn't be too amazing.

firstly its canada, no tax. second even at 4% simple intrest, thats 400 000 dollars a year intrest, that you do pay tax on so about 275 is yours, now if your job pulls in over 275 000 a year then i guess i see your point. I guess my question is how much is enough?
