This is great. I have been wondering about why Whites are racists, and no other race is.....

Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point.

This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points...

Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this? There areAfrican Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans,Arab Americans, etc.

And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'.... and that's OK..

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink .. You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.

You have the NAACP. You have BET.... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.

If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.

We have an Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that??

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US ... Yet if there were 'White colleges', that would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists..

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud.... But you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists??

There is nothing improper about this e-mail.. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves!

all postings made here at tgirlforums are highly monitored by myself and any one of our other moderators.

now aside from the above, i'd like to make my own personal statement on the discussion of the current and past race threads.

I dont see why we need to ban a whole topic of discussion simply because some people with personal history within the topic take it too intimiately. as if it's a personal statement to you. there are other forums in which these exact same type of threads are being made and while there are of course those with radical opinions on both sides of the coin things keep under watch. and you ask what does this have to do with tgirl chat? every conversation here has to do with tgirl chat. one thing we have to remember is that we're just as much as part of the rest of the world as they are. so my question then is what is deemed appropriate in reference that should be talked about in tgirlchat?

all i realy am trying to say is taht we should take these conversations in a learning and intellectual way. everyone needs to be RESPECTFUL!!!
let's not dumb down eachother by stating we shouldn't talk about these things because we're not ready to face reality that guess what... these things are talked about everywhere including a trans based forum.

wow great read,i remember him getting a huge backlash over the comments but i wasnt aware of his closing rmarks im impressed i quess the truth is in the read if your white you will agree with everything he said and if your not then thats just the way youve been brainwashed by your parents and society in general.i wont say stupid or funny things in this thread because it deserves to live.my points of view come straight from a rural upbringing so honestly there isnt much racism in a small towns because we almost all white .the truth is i am old enough to see great changes in life when it comes to racism ya im from the 60s although ive never seen it first hand as a rule you still felt it while watching television with my dad he would say racist stuff about black ball players and stuff not to be meen more like funny but i didnt think it was funny,i think now though the racecard has been pulled so many times its tainted and smells of a bad odur i thinks its gone too far were all created equill and thank god for malcom x and mlk and yes you can add jfk to the list.but still all in all i am white and proud to be white but i wonder in 500 years if whites will even exist?eventually we will all have a darker skin colour with every race mixing together and maybe just maybe then we will end racism for good.

Now, there's a really openminded way of opening up a polite conversation about race. Wow--i am all ears. Lets see how many sensitive and thoughtful responses we get. Based on Lisa's last thread its bound to be SO educational.

Maybe if we limit the discussion to board members who have been robbed, carjacked, or shot at by black gang members or black drug dealers we'll have better luck.

Anyway, why don't you ask Sunshine how she feels about 'controversial topics' like this one.

mostly my problem is:

America has a totally f--ed up relationship to race. The issues between blacks and whites are totally poisonous down there. I think Canada is a very DIFFERENT place. We are not America. i just don't agree that a poster from the United States should act like we have the same screwed up problems as they do. What Ray posted is SO OBVIOUSLY written for White Americans. BUT: We don't have black ghettos, we don't have a 35% unemployment rate among black youth, we don't have millions of black people in jail, we didn't fight a civil war over the right to keep slaves, we didn't lynch thousands of black people, we didn't give birth to the Ku Klux Klan. i just think Americans should sort out their own shit and not import it into a Canadian forum. Overall, Canadians have done a great job dealing with race, and we don't need advice from the US--thanks very much.

Thanks Nay Nay, Lisa and Admin for your thoughtful comments. After reading faure's response I wondered if I had done the right thing by making the posting. I am glad that others found it to be interesting and not at all a lesson from an American on racism.

Dude you have to look at cause and effect.
Whites started MODERN civilization in North America, plain and simple.
The Spanish were in Mexico even, way before the USA was anything.
Does it not make sense they hold most of the wealth.

If I bought property in the USA 300 years ago and someone else bought property 30 years ago, who will be richer?

If you are proud of your heritage that is admirable and there is nothing wrong with letting others know about your pride in your background. Toot your horn all you like! There is nothing in any way racist about those kinds of statements, e.g. the Irish, as Admin has pointed out, have been crowing loudly about their heritage forever it seems and that’s just great. Have you noticed though what the Irish do not do? The Irish do not cut down, except possibly in a humorous way, others who are not Irish.

What far too many of us do unfortunately, is to slag those who do not share our own heritage. That is where things become racist. That sort of talk is what causes anger and rebellion. The email which Ray posted today is written with that intention and IMO is therefore racist.

That same sentiment was very common in many parts of the world including the US, Great Britain and yes even in Canada. At that time the purchase and keeping of slaves was condoned and considered a sign of high social standing. Yes faure, we had slaves here in Canada too and yes, we do have areas in our major cities, especially in Toronto that are equivalent to the ghettos you speak of. Please do not overlook that the KKK was, and is, still alive in this country. while it is not very active publicly today. But do be aware that The Klan was involved in the standoff at Caledonia (their reasoning - Natives are not white skinned)!

If we look carefully about ourselves, it is easy to see that Canada is far from a perfect place. We have enough problems here in Canada that we do not need to import the kind of racist material Ray has sent on to us.

im assuming your probably black am i right? and be honest in your answer please.as for your post its not accurate at all since i was at the calidonia standoff for 2 weeks straight taunting the indians who i have absolutly no respect for what they did there but it seems thats the way they work only thinking about themselves period.
