  • Rules and infractions - 3 strikes you're out

    THIS IS JUST AN IDEA.

    It is not in effect

Currently this is the set of infractions that will have anyone lose privileges here should they go about doing them.

I had a few other ideas to add onto this list but each thought was just a slight deviation or just worded differently from what is on the list.

Having joined other websites similar to this one I have looked into how the governing bodies handle people who abuse the system plus I've also looked into how workplaces in general i.e. department stores, banks, restaurants etc etc handle intolerant behavior. What I've seen the majority of the time is the three strike rule. What is the three strike rule? Let me explain.

If a member here does something on the list they get a verbal warning explaining why they are getting warned and also an explanation that if their behavior continues they are at risk of being removed from this place. As to how the verbal warning is sent I would say that it be placed on the thread where the infraction occurs alongside a quote from the person who is being told this.

    i.e.

" To ( so and so) this is a verbal warning to ask you to stop your actions otherwise you risk at being removed" or something like that

If a persons behavior continues after they are given a verbal warning I suggest they then get a written warning sent to them via a PM.Again it's a reminder that if they continue to break the rules that they will lose freedoms here. I would ask that after this "2nd strike" that they can continue to post in the hopes that they change their ways and learn but if not it leads to the next paragraph.

The 3rd strike I would call it a first and final warning Again the person would be sent a message via a PM and lose most freedoms with maybe a few exceptions like sending PMs to others people or responding to posts. I do not like to see people be totally powerless and be given a chance for redemption BUT even after all of this if the person who has all of these strikes against them still doesn't change then I say this.

You're out. You're gone. You lose it all and are suspended for an indefinite time determined by Admin on a case by case basis.

Now some may be thinking that this isn't really much of a change to the point system we have but it very much is. First off, each strike you get stays in effect for about a week or 2 ( that is not yet determined) . As it is now some points stay longer on record than others. Having an equal amount of time slotted for each strike gives a FAIR chance for people to change instead of waiting and waiting and waiting for some points to expire and maybe in turn just have people not even bother posting anymore once the points expire. The strike system is abrupt. You do something wrong you know about it right away, there won't be any of this ...."I didn't know I did something wrong" or " I don't think I should get points". Lastly, it gives each and everyone here a fighting chance to be on the same level as everyone else in regards as to what they can do.

    Look at it this way:

One strike - stays with you for a week or so. If you behave it gets taken away. If not you get the second strike.

Two strikes - if you have two strikes they stay with you for 1 or 2 weeks as well but I'll also add this.

Say you had just had one day left on your first warning then you do something silly like posting a fake review you get the second strike as mentioned before and now have to wait for THAT to expire as well. The more you accumulate just makes it longer for you to get rid of them.

Third strike - self explanatory. More probationary time added plus the loss of some freedoms.

After that it's the end of the line.

Now of course there will be some scenarios that will be different where it will have to be handled differently. Example, some people set up an account and post only once and never return. This is commonly seen in the review section. and sometimes its also seen in the general chat area. I would say with instances such as this that they are looked at case by case.

I can almost guarantee some people here are thinking "Fuck this shit I'm going to do and say what I want." or "Fuck you I'm going to beat this system." and thats all fine and good but allow me to tell everyone this. Some online forums have NO control and let people do and say what they want and there is no equality among people.

As days go by there might be other things I'd like to post but as of now it's just an idea that I'd like to hear opinions from everyone.

    ...

Hello Admin. Yes. I know about how people change after even just a warning. In my workplace I've seen even the most quiet of people become monsters and vice versa, still, even with that, some people did change for the better. The model I posted was the most popular I'd seen when it came to managing things. You know me though as I love to research and bring positive changes.

Ok. Well. Guess it's best just to keep a watchful eye out.

        Good idea!

I like it and look forward to seeing it in use.

I think a more prominent sticky devoted to Rules only would help if it's position always was at the very top of the list. Currently it does not really stand out and has to be looked for.

Yep, I see something like this at work, a 3 warning system. When the third and final warning is given out, it tells them that they will be terminated if they do it again. Even if they have been with the company for many years, it does not matter. A recent example I saw was lateness. This co-worker was late for work a few times and the district manager sat him down and presented him, in writing, his third and final warning. If was late one more time he would be terminated even though he was a hard worker. But these warnings last for one year from the date of the first warning. It is hoped that the warnings would show the employee how serious management is about breaking company policies.

dude lol,you seriously cant compare a real life to an entertainment board can you?people have all kinds of reasons to read this forum, some get info some get entertained and some get a woody but nobody and i mean nobody should get offended by another who says something you dont like that after all is pretty childish and 90 percent of the posters have no idea who they are in the first place.some of you people need to get a realitty check and calm the fuck down the minute you start treating any board like its the gospel thats the minute you need to step out for awhile.

I'm all in favour of anything which will keep the discourse civil. Stupid remarks may entertain some people, but that's not why I joined up. I wanted to interact with and learn from transgendered women. If that makes me a fool to some, well it's a free country.
