    "KICK-ASS"
Release Date: "Friday, April 16'th, 2O1O"

Rated R for strong brutal violence throughout, pervasive language, sexual content, nudity and some drug use - some involving children.
    1 hr & 48 mins

    Action, Comedy, Drama
KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

    Director: Matthew Vaughn

    Cast - Major:
Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Aaron Johnson, Xander Berkeley, Corey Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Lyndsy Fonseca, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Omari Hardwick

So i saw this movie last night and was i blown away with the extream violence and drug use -cocaine- in this movie. Alot of fucking blood, & alot of disgusting killings going on. It was filmed mainly in Toronto and the other half of it was in Nyc Manhatten. I didn't expect the little 10 year girl with the purple wig to be so dangerous and evil, and a killer in the movie. She really fights like an adult, like for real, lol. Totally not what i expected, cause in the trailer it shows that it was mainly a comedy and a bunch of teenagers dressed up like super hero costumes, but there's alot of violence in it, like for real. Over all it was a great movie, comedy with a twist with alot of killings, lol. I give this movie a 7/1O. Anyways this movie was entertaining, i give u that, but would i buy it when it comes out on dvd?

Ummm, nope, lol. If u wanna laugh ur head of and get scared with all the gory scenes, they go ahead, watch this fucking film. Anyways i noticed alot of american films are being filmed here in Toronto. Speaking of which this Kick-Ass movie, they showed a scene of our very own theater at scotiabank (richmond/john), and people in the theater while watching the movie were laughing at that part, cause we were like hey wait a minute, that's our fucking theater we're at right now we're at, and we're also seeing it on the big screen. Wierd eh? lol... In the scene there were these super hero's & they decided to go 2 see a movie, and they showed the front doors, and the escalators, so i recongnized it was the same theater i was currently was in, lol.

I thought this movie looked so stupid until I saw the R rated trailers, it actually looks pretty good so I'm not surprised it's receiving solid reviews. I wonder what the little girl's parents thought during filming when she was calling people cunts and such?

The graphic novel was very shocking to first time readers as well. It's misleading for a reason. The violence is shown in graphic detail and with no restrictions for the same reason sex would be in a movie like "Invincible".
Evil, murder and death is a significant part of this "genre". The concepts illustrated are often "watered down" by the artist to add a dark overtone to the story but at the same time not disgust you so bad you don't care to proceed with reading/viewing it.
Over the years, comic books had become very, very morbid.
So, in this example we have children with violent overtones and note that our hero is without any kind of advantage.
It's almost a dark parody of sorts.
Here is an example of how you can be presented with a horrid event through the words of a terrible person but not really feel that it's "real".
The joker talks about (maybe lies, who knows) of how his father stabbed his mother to death in front of him and then took the blade to the face of his own child. Really think about that. That's WAY fucked up but you are not bothered by it because it's placed in setting so far from anything believable.

This film provides a little bit of clever stuff that fills a useless void but not much really to satisfy. The heroes, villains and general theme are boring. This is nothing more than a fanboy product trying to infuse inspiration.

" Hey all I wanna be a superhero and go (somewhat) crazy about it. Yeah yeah. We can do it just like in the movies. "

Please ... and if I knew Nicolas Cage starred in it I would'nt have seen it but considering as I saw this for free I shouldn't complain too much.

Then again it was once considered that Cage be considered the new Superman.

Fuck....no.....just no. I remember that story from years ago and how he was laughed off the set from the proposed producers when he donned the Superman costume and add to that the garbage he put out then as also as he is apparently doing in the present. Horrifying.

In one scene the little girl in the purple wig use the words and said, BIG COCKS! No joke, and people in theater were laughing, cause nobody expected a sweet little girl to be using such sexual langauge, lol.

Right, and this is the point of the film. The audience of graphic novels, movies based on those works as well as gaming are typically 11-25. Most of them being pre-teen. If anybody asked the question, "What are they watching or reading?", what would be the answer?
The answer is brutal violence, explicit sex, murder and death.
Take "Spawn" for example. The villain is a pedophile, rapist and murderer of children and the hero is a servant of hell.
This what little Timmy is watching while mom does the laundry.
Why are they drawn to it?
Fuck knows. Why do I love the French horror movie, Martyrs? I just do. To me it's art and thought provoking. Most can't even sit through twenty minutes of it and if they do get to the end, they may need a therapist for a few years.
So, the artists took the children and made them the hero's and villains of these stories. That's a cool concept to me. They have to confront all the same stuff that we have been a fan of for such a long time.
I say, this movie is awsome. Barbie, if you like this film, try "Unbreakable". This is another film I really like.
