So I went on an expedition to the beautiful Southern California. The first stop was San Francisco. It is noted that San Fran is the gay capital of the world. Well I guess whoever conducted that social study has not been to Toronto.
While at San Fran's city hall there were a collection of multicoloured flags that formed the rainbow, my naturally embedded gay-dar surely didn't beep as loud and often as it does walking down the streets of Toronto. Oddly enough tho, the castro, which is just as small as church st, isn't the actual designated 'gay district' San Fran. In Fact the gay district was HUGEEE, going on for blocks, decorated in high end fasihon boutiques for men, tasteful and classy restaurants and trendy bars and clubs.
I find it quite funny that in Toronto, which admittingly has a high gay population has literally a 2 block street designated for gay culture and socialness. It's like... hey ya we know we got lots of you people but here, we're going to give you nothing to work with. have fun ! Anyone who has partied on Church knows what a major bore-fest it actually is.
Anyways, oddly enough even tho Toronto doesn't claim the title of the Queenest city in the world, it surely beat out the competition for World Pride, which we are hosting in 2014. Perhaps it's about time we too get a rainbow flag collection at our city hall too.
eat our shorts san fran!!!
this is me in the castro

and at pier 3 with the bay bridge in the scenic distance

ps it really is super sunny in california, hence the constant sunglasses hahaha
