Having worked in a slaughter house I can say that those guys are fucking pathetic. I have never seen anyone treat living animals like that. Obviously those guys do not own the farm if they did those cows wouldn't produce any milk I bet if the farmer caught those guys doing that he would do the same to them.

Before you eat Chicken At KFC, think again! Here's another disturbing & sick disgusting video:

Thrown, dropped, mutilated, and ground-up alive. This is the disturbing reality faced by hundreds of thousands of chicks each day at the world's largest egg-laying breed hatchery Hy-Line International in Spencer, Iowa.

New hidden camera footage obtained at this facility during a http://www.MercyForAnimals.org undercover investigation gives a disturbing glimpse into the cruel and industrialized reality of modern hatcheries.

The warm, comforting, and protective wings of these newly hatched chicks' mothers have been replaced with massive machines, quickly moving conveyor belts, harsh handling, and distressing noise. These young animals are sorted, discarded, and handled like mere cogs in a machine.

For the nearly 150,000 male chicks who hatch every 24 hours at this Hy-Line facility, their lives begin and end the same day. Grabbed by their fragile wings by workers known as "sexers," who separate males from females, these young animals are callously thrown into chutes and hauled away to their deaths. They are destined to die on day one because they cannot produce eggs and do not grow large or fast enough to be raised profitably for meat. Their lives are cut short when they are dropped into a grinding machine tossed around by a spinning auger before being torn to pieces by a high-pressure macerator.

Over 21 million male chicks meet their fate this way each year at this facility.

For the surviving females, this is the beginning of a life of cruelty and confinement at the hands of the egg industry. Before even leaving the hatchery they will be snapped by their heads into a spinning debeaker a portion of their sensitive beaks removed by a laser. Workers toss and rummage through them before they are placed 100 per crowded box and shipped across the country.

The callous disregard for animal welfare at this facility is not isolated. In fact, the conditions documented during this investigation are completely standard and acceptable within the commercial egg industry. Referred to by Hy-Line corporate leaders as mere "genetic products," these chicks are treated just as they are viewed as inanimate objects, rather than the sentient creatures they are.

Driven by consumer demand, the egg industry will continue to exploit, abuse, and kill day-old animals as long as doing so remains profitable. Empowered consumers can put their ethics on the table by choosing kindness over cruelty at each meal by adopting an animal-friendly vegan diet.

Try eating vegan in todays economy. seriously I read a study on it
and it is rediculous what they charge for these products and organic
foods. I know myself because I drink this NAKED juice and Bony Acai
and it's like 7 dollars a bottle (quart) for the stuff or 4 a can.

IDK if you all have something called Whole Foods up in canada but OMG
it's the greatest supermarket on earth but you spend a bill and leave with
        two bags.

          Documentary recommendation

Ok well if anyone really wants to know about the food industry and the state of where it was 30 years ago compared to now watch this recent release

          See:
          • cows with holes bored into their side so that farmers can force feed them corn
          • virtually thousands of pigs instantly slaughtered before your eyes
          • the illegal immigrants in these slaughterhouses working 12 hours a day an have improper tools to use and cut themselves while handling the meat thus causing a high risk of contamination of your meat
          • chickens being bred to grow 3 times their normal rate and be unable to walk as they have very little bone mass and wallow in their own filth
          • the remarkable amount of chemicals in fruits and vegetable used too give them a longer shelf life at a grocery store
          • how you go to a grocers and buy a head of lettuce for 1.50$ yet can go to taco bell and buy a total of 6 tacos for the same price becuase the food industry wants to control who can buy what within their social status
          • how sugar is now pretty much available everywhere and is attributing to people being more overweight than ever.
          • how the fast food chains have taken control over the potato and livestock market

I've seen this film 4 times and there is so much more to add than what you see on this list.

Best advice. Grow food yourself if you can or go to a farmers market.

            Yea....messed up

I've seen it and I no longer eat PF changs because of it.
I'm a big documentary buff if you liked food inc I would
recommend that you see "Religulous" if you haven't allready.

Sidenote: People just can't afford or don't want to farm and
farmers markets are very rare in some places it's just easier
and cheaper 4 people to grab a burrito. 1 think about hippies
and that entire demographic is they tend to overlook the fact
that people don't have the $ time or energy to give a fuck.

You do know animal farts and aquanet are the cause of global warming
right? That slippery when wet vinyl LP that you have sitting on a shelf
somewhere is basically the cause of the depleting ozone.

I saw part of "Food" on the CBC and it was eye opening. LOVED Bill Maher's movie "Religulous". Some of those guys were crazy and to think they actually have power and millions of dollars. Remember that Spanish guy who really believed he was Jesus Christ and his flock was several thousands of people. I am not religious so this movie did appeal to me.

I'm agnostic myself but i'm leaning more toward the atheist side
of things but my brain won't allow me to say that i'm an atheist
because that (Atheism) to me is allmost like a religion it's the
                        religion of no religion.

People ask me what religion I am and I just say i'm agnostic
people ask me what political party I represent and I just say
                        communist.

There's an old saying that an agnostic is no more than a "polite" atheist. I'm not sure I agree. I think things are more nuanced than that, as Einstein's thoughts suggest. Anything can become an ideology, and we need to be wary of uncritically buying into any of them.
