In The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying and the feeling is mutual but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, and kung fu prodigy, Cheng. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

So my friend James decided to take me out on my 28'th birthday tonight to see the movie Karate Kid. Mind u my b-day is actually right now, cause it's after midnight, "Wed, June 16'th, 2O1O", so if any of u would like to wish me a happy birthday here on tgirlforums.com, that would be greatly appreciate it, thank u. Anyways just to let u know this is a remake, from an 80's original movie. Since my friend treated me out, payed for my ticket, and for our cab fair as well, i felt like a little princess all spoiled, lol. I had 3 choices, which movie to watch, Sex in the city, Shreck forever after & or the other 2 films i've already seen, Take him to the greek & Prince of persia. So i decided to see this Karate kid movie instead, cause it looks like a great movie, and trust me it was. The little black boy in the movie in actually Will Smith's son, and he did an excellent acting job on his role on this film. This movie is 2 hours & 19 mins, so it's pretty long u know. I rate this movie a 8/1O star rating. It's not boring, i found it funny, sad, lot's of violence and just alot of action in it. So if ur not sure about this movie, go see it right now, cause apparently this film made huge money in the box office! My personal opinion, i think the original movie was much better, because they always are anyways, lol.
