Paula is right - listen to her. Hormones are very powerful and potentially dangerous. When you take hormones, you are messing with your own body's balance. The results can be very bad for your health.

Start by finding a sympathetic doctor or naturopath. Start slowly, with a small dose. You will get these at the pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor. Increase the dose gradually until you feel that you have the balance right. Do a saliva hormone test before you begin so you know where your hormones are at now. Then, once you have been on hormones for a few months, do another saliva test. This will show you where the balance is at. A naturopath is the most likely proffessional who can do the saliva tests. Do not do blood tests for hormone levels as your doctor will likely suggest - they do not give a true representation of your hormone levels.

Hormones are a good place to start because you will begin to feminize your body and your outlook. Softer skin, less hair growth and finer hair, breast tissue growth, weight redistribution to your hips and thighs, etc. After a while, you can consider some surgical procedures and move slowly toward your goal.
