Gooday
First off, congratulations to the organizers of pride in Hamilton. I did not participate in the events myself but I saw many good times being had throughout the night when I was out (no pun intended).
That being said, there is still a problem with the queer scene in Hamilton. It may very well have to do with the size of the population and the way it is received by others. I, however, don't agree with that. It is simply that the queer scene is full of far to many pretentious shit heads who think they are the best. The common theme is an inability to talk and communicate without running into their wall of selfish arrogance.
This can be a common appearance when dealing with transgendered people. I do say 'appearance' because many of them are not like this on the inside. It usually stems from fear. In many cases it has been a struggle to become who they are so they hide behind a greater-than-thou persona.
This is not a reasonable excuse. Particularly during pride festivities. Loosen up. Accept life as it comes to you. Don't judge it before you know.
Another shitty issue is that many of the girls come off like working girls. In the Hammer Thayla appears to be the queen bee in this regard. I know she is a prostitute. That doesn't bother me. It bothers me that the ladies I see hanging out with her adopt the same attitude.
It is a general feeling of discontent and nonacceptance polished off with sexy smiles and and high heels.
It is annoying and frustrating. Two things that seriously piss a man off when he wants to talk, joke around, and fuck.
Fuck it! I'm going back to Toronto for a good time. The queer capital of Canada is far more welcoming.
